  • School dinners are similar here. I'm in East Midlands - £2-3 a day depending on what they buy in the canteen (secondary school) I rarely let them have one TBF too expensive for two 🙈.

Hi sorry I've been neglecting my diary haven't I. I'm okay but I feel like there is not enough hours in the day and I can't keep up. No idea why things are getting busier as the kids have got older it's not like I'm having to ferry them round everywhere any more. House is a bombsite, I desperately need a weeks sleep and I'm ending the month at -170. Unexpected costs, washer, mot and various other kids stuff has contributed to that. Will recoup next month I'm sure!

Glad you're ok.  Ignore the house, and try and get some rest xx

  • Good news my fixed term is finally and officially been extended till March and I have a payrise. About 40 p an hr. Should give me 35-40 extra a month after deductions. Will be swallowed up by the cost of living but takes the pressure of a bit doesn't it. Got a week off soon which I'm definitely ready for. Until then plod along and let the kids occupy themselves. Spent a fair whack at b and q this week as the shower broke. Probably will pay someone to fit it as well as the water and electric further down the line could be a dangerous mix. DH is bound to know someone from the pub who can do it as a sideline😂 Day to day budget is going well but the random high cost extras that pop up are not so well budgeted for!!

That's great news that you've got the extension in your contract, and a little payrise!

Ouch to the shower, there's always something.

I know adulting is rubbish sometimes isn't it.  On a more positive note I've just had an email from viewsbank to say I've enough to cash out so I've just over £12 on the way!

Thanks all. I did get some catch up sleep but now I need more 😂 money seems to be evaporating at the moment and things are still crazy busy but I'm off next week so hoping to have some time with the kids and some fun. Feel like I've either worked, cooked or cleaned so far and the kids are a bit bored by it. They've slept a lot and had long lie ins which I need to reverse a little bit but I can't blame them really. I'm wondering if after school club on top of school has absolutely exhausted them across all these years!
