It's turned into a very spendy week. Just with things planned, lost pe kits and general cost of things. Thankfully we get child benefits twice in one months pay period next month so that will help reset the budget and get us back on track.

Same here with the child benefit.  Each month I seem to end with less and less as everything has gone up.

Thanks for the reminder on the TU offer.  Annoyingly I got some dresses earlier in the week, but I might look and see if there's anything I can get for next year.

Yesterday was a bit spendy too. At a local event. Gave the kids some money as spends to use on whatever they wanted at the stalls and they managed okay with that. Unbelievable how quickly they can spend the money though. Was a mixture of ice cream sweets and tat but everyone was happy. Need a quiet week now to get me till my reset day. Don't think I'll have any left to move to savings this week 😂

The money is definitely not stretching as far as it used to. I think partly as my kids are older so clothes shoes and food portions etc are bigger but there is definitely less wiggle room in the budget considering I'm now full time. A lot of people are in the same situation I think though.

Food is just so much more expensive these days, combine that with growing appetites!

Asda uniform sale started today for anyone that didn't find any joy at sainsburys. I've ordered eldest shirts as sainsburys had sold out of big sizes. More spends again but least it's done for September

I've been given a refund from Amazon for some sweets we bought last year with an advisory to not eat them and dispose of them. We ate them a long while ago so with any luck we've had a lucky escape from whatever the problem was. It's gone to one of my old c cards so I'll have to see how to get that back. Was just over a tenner so a handy Tilly tallie if I can sort it out. 😂

New month new budget reset. New washing machine required. Hmmm. Not a great start but I had the beginning of an e fund that we used to pay for it. (These emergency items do wreak havoc on the attempts to build an e fund don't they!!) I need to do proper maths to assess the damage but it's too hot and I'm too tired so I'll look another day.

Ok so I've assessed the damage. If I pretend to ignore that I've got an MOT and two big celebrations to attend this payday month then all will be okay. I won't put anything away for uniform, I don't need a haircut and I've already paid this month's childcare so aside from the three things I've mentioned all is okay. I've some money left for the MOT so fingers crossed it doesn't cost a lot. I'm due to book in this month so we will know soon enough. I've paid another 15 pounds off the school trips using cashback and round ups from chase account but as I've stupidly not remembered to transfer enough into it this month I won't qualify again now for cashback till August. The aim of this payday month is to get through it and still have anything left in savings. I've lumped all my savings together and I've about 600 pounds so watch this space. One day I will have pots for each thing but for now I'm just still keeping afloat. 😂
