That's interesting.  I'm still going to leave little miss until she turns 11 as that's what we did with little jwil. I guess it depends on what it's meant to cover.  I still pay for everything including snacks/school lunches/phones etc. I'll have a ponder, thank you!

It was an eye opener. Eldest has started to go out by himself, walks to and from school and if I'm honest will spend it most of it on sweets drinks and occasional X box cards. The youngest two don't go out alone but are wanting a bit of independence to be able to treat themselves. One is also now into make up/toiletries  (on a small scale.) Occasional trip to boots for lip gloss- not high end stuff or Sephora like some of her classmates. If my contract renews I'll start pocket money so they get used to having, spending, then having nothing left so they think more about what money is. I asked my boss yesterday if I needed to panic or it will be renewed. They said they will ask higher up. I'm gonna look at the job sites to see what's about locally. Everyone seems to be on recruitment freezes though!

Same I'm paying for everything really. I'll do it more as a that's what you to pay for if you want to buy yet more hair clips, sweets etc . The youngest two didn't really need anything up till now but I'm seeing a shift in them at moment wanting more freedom. And they share a room so I'm fed up of arguments over whose pound that was if they've been given money 😂

When I was given pocket money, half of it needed to go into savings and the other half we could spend.  Felt this was a good lesson for later on

Thanks slm6002..eldest has a bank card and savings account. He did well at saving till he started hanging about outside with his mates. He doesn't go out often but now his savings (all of about 15 pounds) are down to 37 p. The call of food and sweets I think whilst out I think. He's forever hungry 😂 and I think they all spend whoever has money as they aren't all at the age where it's a regular thing

Still haven't applied for monzo. Must try it later as it says it's free. Desperately need to do a food shop as the kids are saying there is nothing in. I'm sure we could live for another week off what's in but kids are fussy things aren't they 😂 applied for three jobs so far. Such a PITA applying for stuff. Still hoping for another six months to get me through summer break as I can WFH so no childcare costs. Jobs going locally are all in person at the moment which would cause a problem. Actually must ask school when they open next week what places they have left in Sept in case I need more wraparound 😭

Childcare is such a nightmare isn't it! I really hope you get the extension.

It's so restrictive. Looking at jobs but DH works 8-6 or 12-10 with no set pattern so I need to have a job that allows time to drop off and pick up using wraparound care if there is any left. And then the cost often negates the earnings. Will all work out in the end though. They will have to tell me the decision sooner or later if only to arrange for me to return the laptop 😂

Food shop done. Used the chase card again with my weekly budget. Have made some random payments to c card with Tilly tallies and have  paid the last payment off the eldest school iPad. Wanted to get rid of this one so have cleared it early so it's out of the way. It will be cheaper to buy the youngest twos ipads outright and I reckon I've got 12-14? Months to save that up. For now I'm just reducing monthly commitments and using Tilly tallies to cover the minimum on my c card debt. House is a tip but I've gone on strike till other people help. Other than that not much planned today.

I haven't had to buy any computer equipment thankfully!  It's a bit cheeky that they expect you to buy tablets for them all.

Well done on going on housework strike, hope you get a chance to relax
