Any chance the school can offer a reduction as you will be paying for 2?

Not for the pgl trip. I know when they get to highschool (not next Sept but one after) they get a sibling discount on the iPads of about 100 pounds. It sounds so odd planning these costs so far ahead but realistically they will start asking for that money July/August 26 so I have to start saving with everything being a double hit.

I've paid the deposit on the school trip. I was working on the assumption that its best to pay it now rather than stress if we have no money next month - it just means it has have been ticked off the list.

Work have now told me there is a chance they will u turn and keep me. I should know within two weeks. My contract ends end of the month so they are cutting it fine. It's exhausting but there's hope.

Oh fingers crossed!  It's awful that they are keeping you hanging on until the last minute.  That happened at my work with the fixed term contracts.  It's not fair.

Well done on making the trip payment.  I'm also one who pays straight away if I can.  It's easier to be skint now than worry about what might happen in future months.

Thanks Jwil. Yeah best to pay it and have done with it. Next payment is £40 each in September. Surely I can get that in Tilly tallies on my chase account 😂

So Monzo is free for kids accounts/cards. I have a Monzo account and I've now got two kids cards attached to it. Eldest already has a bank account. The two youngest have got a card on the way. They've picked different colours-both bright which should help us find them in a messy bedroom. I can just load money on via the app.

That sounds good, I've got a Monzo account, so I'll have a look.

Sainsbury's have 20% off school uniform if anyone's kids are young enough to still buy uniform there. Just got four white shirts, two plain cardigans and a 2 pack of cycling shorts for £26. Didn't manage any shirts for eldest so will hold out for Asda sale for them. Pants I'll also buy last minute as he hasn't stopped eating recently so who knows how tall he will be.  I will buy another pack of white shirts as well from somewhere else in case the youngest two are faddy about the buttons or fit 😂 I'm going to try and limp it through next year with basic provisions for the youngest.  No point buying loads in there final year! But it's a start -gets earlier and earlier each year....
