So here goes with a brand new diary. With the financial situation across the country as it is I'm going paycheck to paycheck and debts seem to be going up not down.
It's time to take stock. Focus on the money actually lasting the month and forming a new plan. I've never been one for following the American debt fella but I think getting to the end of the month and making a 500 e fund are gonna have to be big priorities before I start on the debts.

So the good news. My dmp debts are officially finished.
The bad news I have new ones. And dh still has dmp debts which are all still in need of paying. I pay minimums on his but I'm not including his debt figures in my diary.
Total debts in my name are 8542. My budget this month is very very tight but if it's the same or level or less at end of Feb I'll be very happy.
Plan of action.
Be 8542 in debt hopefully below 8500 at end of month. Increase e fund (currently 42)
Oh and loose some weight as I'm having a general anesthesic soon and I can't get my rings off (whoops)
Ways to manage this. Post daily to keep me on board, use my asda rewards for shopping and have a bit of luck 🤣Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213 - Oct 24 13.4 k

So it's Friday which is gonna be my budget reset day. I'm monthly dh is weekly. I have a soa which is quite tight and varies slightly as I pay 100 a week childcare term time and less in the holidays. I may post the soa at some point but there's not much room for manouvre so I'll see.
Rookie error but I also owe dwp and it's not in my total. 450 I think is the last figure they gave me. I've set up a standing order to pay. They sent me a letter so I've agreed a standing order so it will sort itself out (was surprised how low I was allowed to set it). It's to do with the child tax credit we used to claim, its just one of those things isn't it.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213 - Oct 24 13.4 k

So normal budget each week20 petrol✓
20 activities/entertainment already 15 spent yet still need spends for Mondays school trip then Thursdays school disco for 3 children.
120 shopping. 10 spent but have 45 in asda rewards so hopefully this saves me some to cover disco shortfall Also needs to cover a birthday tea however which is probably McDonald's. Eeek !
Off to meal plan and assess birthday present situation.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213 - Oct 24 13.4 k

Birthday present situation was a bit iffy. Thought I had squirreled away a few bits but not really so much. Big present sorted on black Friday so that's helped.
And some good news from the hospital- they can tape.my rings if I can't get them off as it's only gonna be a short while under anesthesic. No need to crash diet. Although I am trying to loose some weight and get my BMI as normal againJan 18 Joint debts 35,213 - Oct 24 13.4 k

So it's a different kind of pounds but I've lost 2.5 kg since December. My next target is to loose 3.5 lbs.
I'm swapping between kilos and lbs depending on which makes the next barrier achievable! This target will break the next stone barrier. The long term goal was to loose a stone and a bit and get me in the correct BMI range.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213 - Oct 24 13.4 k

Big weekly shop done. Was almost at the target for Asda rewards for fresh meat so have paid with my money this week to gain the extra two pound in rewards points. Will cash out my points for next week's shop. Have a meal planner in place and food in the cupboards so now gonna limp it through to next friday.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213 - Oct 24 13.4 k

Have you seen the dental floss trick for removing a stuck ring? There’s a tutorial on YouTube for it. I’ve not tried it, I just saw it when I fell down a rabbit hole one time 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
