We have some building work on the house due soon. We have money set aside but are likely to be about 500 short. In the grand scheme of things we were honestly thinking it could be a lot worse. DH has been more proactive recently and has picked up some overtime which he says he will set aside to help pay. hope it doesn't go down the pub... After the building work we expect to also need to pay a plasterer which we haven't got saved up but if we can get watertight and brickworks sorted first that will be the win. I need to have a good sit down move all the pennies about and see what we can use. Our house feels like such a money pit sometimes.
I've money in pots that will cover school shoes and uniform. Nothing saved for Xmas but that's not an emergency yet is it.. I know Martin says it happens every year so shouldn't be a suprise!

Enjoy your time off!  Little jwil is getting to the sleeping later into the day stage.   I think it's just the age.  I don't mind if we're not doing anything, but I expect them to be up if we are doing something.

Chill out and tidy up day today I think. Octopus have offered us free electric between two and three so I'll wash the bedding and make use of it. Go me for excitement 😉. DH doing a late shift as overtime so will have a tidy up a look at the finances and maybe start a new book if I've time. It's quite windy here but also a bit grey so not sure I want to be out and about today!

Well I washed hoovered tumble dried and had the dishwasher on in the free electricity hour. Definitely got some exercise in too ha ha. All the bedding was washed and either dried or out in the wind on the line. Didn't read a book yet but did put a film on with the kids and have been swimming this morning.

Had an eventful early part of the day today that I won't mention as will easily identify things local to me but just been out this afternoon to a sunflower farm and it was absolutely lovely! A pound each to get in and something that was beautiful to look at!

Yesterday turned into an unproductive spendy day as my mobile packed in. I've managed to replace it and set up on most things but Halifax banking didn't like my efforts so I'm locked out till they send me a new code. Oh dear. Need to do a mass tidy up as we have a sleepover at our house tonight. Weather is already v hot so tidying up in this heat sounds like an awful plan. 😂 Slightly worried about how hot the bedrooms will get so have got some bottled water for them to have in the night. Must get started ha ha

Forgot to mention I read a book. Children's book - called Now. One of the kids had been reading it and wasn't sure so I read it yesterday. Can see why she's not ready but a good read. I might read a grown up book next.  :)
