the Clue is in the word partnership - you’re supposed to be in this together, not swimming in different directions. Make sure you look out for you in all this as no one else seems to be.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

This is where I waver about getting a water meter. DH gets nervous about it as well. I still think we'd save overall.
I've had my bill and it was £117 for gas for December. I reckon our electric is around £85 per month, so just over £200 ish. I've had the heating on most days I think."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". 103 electric and 165 was gas. With an extra person our electric must be about right. It's the shower that guzzles it. The plus point of all this is it will be cheaper in summer as gas will be majorly reduced. Our d debits is set at 235 a month but over a year it might not actually need to be that high. Food for thought. Thanks jwil for having a look.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

The water bill came back. Our water usage has gone down but the bill has gone up by 43p a month so maybe that's a sign of april price increases to come.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Nothing exciting to report. Saved some money on house insurance renewal. After school club is going up from April by 40p a day each but I expected it to increase and that's not too horrific a jump.. I would think everything else will increase too. Still plodding on with the budget. Should have a bit left for reset day tomorrow but we have two family meals out next week we're we are going to be well over budget so will keep it towards that.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Still plodding on. Had an advance from u credit. Whether that's the right thing to do or not who knows but beats asking for an overdraft again. Agreed to repay over 24 months so technically our debt has increased but once we know what and if we are entitled to anything (find out in a week and a half) then we can plan better. Looks like DH will be off for longer than what the Dr said. Physio did an eye roll when he said I've been told to be off for X amount of time. 😂 Pesky issue of children's b days all being in the first quarter but I paid the council tax over ten months last year knowing the op was imminent so that's helping as we have two months of not paying that bill now. Definitely can't wait for half term, I also love the 2 council tax free months!
I think you just need to do what you need to do to get through the time DH is off and it can all be sorted out once he's back at work."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've been really spendy..massive food shop after we had emptied the freezers and three activities booked. Two for over half term and one for afternoons when they are back at school. Darent add it up. Will have to do the sums after.... EeekJan 18 Joint debts 35,213
