  • Friday tomorrow. The 200 food budget has been spent. Did include a few bits to help someone else though and the flaming advent calendars being refilled so in future weeks we should go under. Forgot I "used" my spends twice for the watch and the extension lead but I set up a slush fund of a tenner a week so all is good. Not bought petrol yet as not had chance but will roll it over and put 40 in on Friday instead. Defo need a notepad though as I'm rubbish at remembering to jot in in my spreadsheet. Notepad would be a more visual reminder each night.

  • Reset day. Not moved money yet but have already bought batteries and snacks for an outing. My nanna used to have a notebook in her bag with pen to write everything down. I can see why now. We used to laugh during lockdown as she would write down what she thought she owed us from our doorstep surprises whilst stood at her living room window and we were like seriously u owe us nothing. We saw they had it in a shop so we bought u some 😂 and do u know at the end she tried to give us all the money back.

Notebook sounds like a good idea.  I just go through my app and update the spreadsheet periodically.  I don't break down into loads of categories though, so 'groceries' covers anything I buy from the supermarket, even if it's non food, unless I can specifically remember.

  • So good news is my contract has been extended till end of June so I'm relieved about that. E fund has 78 pounds and debt neutral fund has 75 pounds.  My last two debts are defaulted. They are with Tesco bank who have been recently taken over by b/card. Any payments I've tried to make on the app since haven't worked and neither has a standing order. I'm assuming it's some kind of admin issue so I've decided to put any money I would have paid aside into a debt neutral, (also doubling up as a personal emergency fund).  I'm sure they will write to me eventually to ask for money. No one else to pay to except DH debts which have gone up by a few pounds again.

Money in general has come up at home as well as other things but for now I'm only in a position to plod on. I have an ultrasound tomorrow to investigate something which is playing on my mind a bit but  I have googled my recent blood results and the scary things I think they were checking where all in normal limits so I'm hoping all will be okay. Just hope I can drink enough water and hold it in long enough to negotiate the school run and traffic to make the apt on time.

  • Kids, classroom, secret Santa. Unexpected. We are in three secret Santa groups apparently with a ten pounds limit each. Said to eldest your not in one are you. He said oh I might be. Oh piddlesticks. When did this become a thing... Never rains but it pours.

  • Ultrasound went well. Ovaries all good. My one and half litres of water wasn't enough so I had to have more. Three litres in the end. Not easy to hold in is all I will say. Least it's done now. Ha ha
