Started with a financial mindset. Had a cheque for a pound from c card. No idea why but paid it in anyways. It's a card I closed so must be a bit left over. Also a letter to take part in a health survey and blood test. Have registered/done the questions and have a blood test booked. Nhs research and I'll get a ten pound voucher for my troubles. And hopefully it helps research into how things can be spotted sooner. Now procrastinating as the house is a tip and I want to fix it before work tomorrow

Is that Our Future Health?  I did that in the summer and got the voucher.

Yes it is. Aside from the voucher, doing mass research has got to help things surely. It's so hard to know what's in the food we eat now and if anything this will help look at health trends for everyone.

Yes I agree it should be good overall.

Savings 769.bank in the plus (just) and debts a lot lower than 12 months ago. Im calling that a new year win.  Freezing weather outside and lots of local flooding but thankfully we are perfectly fine, just in need of some sunshine. Hope everyone else is okay

That's definitely a New Year win, well done!  Glad you have avoided the flooding, it's been horrible out there.  We've not had it too bad down here.

I've started a daily journal with a spending log at the back of it. Shopping arrived this morning as today is DH payday. £115 spent. 4 items missing -unfortunately all healthy items.
I've put on more weight over Xmas. The questionnaire I filled out for the future health letter asked my weight and some lifestyle questions....so I stood on the scales and fessed up to my sedentary lifestyle 🙈. Ironic maybe that it arrived in new years week! Tidy up and declutter day today. Am tired though so need some early nights this weekend I think

Shopping 129 so far inc some money on parent pay for school dinners. I've set the budget for 200 a week but surely we don't need that much. Went out with the youngest two yesterday. Eldest didn't want to come which was a shame but he's growing out of some things now. Trying to move any spare to savings as we will have three-four months of ssp which I'm dreading. Gonna apply for universal credit when it happens but who knows if we will get any/enough to make a difference. Dreading it as we do tax free childcare and I will have to stop that I think for us to claim u credit.

When I applied for UC it took about 6 weeks to get up and running (although I know there was talk about trying to reduce this time) .  Might be worth seeing if you can apply early or if you qualify anyway?

Only my youngest will do things with me now.  DD1 is off with friends or at work and DS prefers to stay home.  Not sure how much longer I have with DD2 wanting to join in so I am making the most of it now.
