Payday today. Got back day of almost 300 pounds as we had a pay rise (backdated). Works out at 100 a month extra less tax so what's that 60 a month extra maybe after deductions from now on. I intend to budget properly this month. Set amount per week spending diary etc. I've been full time four months now so we are starting to catch up and cash flow working better. Now we should be able to see what we have to live on without any major catch up costs if you know what I mean. Still got that pesky Xmas thing to sort but aside from that I intend to stick to the budget I've made and see if it works. DH hasn't asked about the budget again so who knows what he is thinking about living to one.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

200 food, dog food and school dinners- I seriously hope we actually spend less than that. 20 petrol, 20 spends. And bits set aside to various pots each week to help with cash flow as the big bills are first couple of weeks of the month. Reset day every Friday.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Happy payday"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Kids really want the tree up so I'm on a mass tidy up mission. Not sure how far I'll get but best to try before the tree goes up isn't it. Weekly shop delivered yesterday and treated myself to a watch with a step counter on as I lost mine earlier this year. 119/200 shopping 11/20 my spends for the watch. Some top up stuff needed from aldi that I wasn't prepared to pay asda prices for but shouldn't be too much more. Strict budget starts here 😂Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I wasn't very productive I only managed two rooms then we had visitors. House still a tip but trees up now. Budget still intact but completely forgot to fill the advent calendars and needed a new extension lead unexpectedly so did have to shop/spend yesterday evening. Will update totals after. I think I might need a notebook to help me keep track.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I'm at 176/200 for food this week. Includes dog food and topping up school dinners on parent pay and advent sweets and a few other bits for xmas. No petrol yet and 20 out of 40 clothes budget spent. I've set that at 40 a week as they are all growing taller every day (and loosing pe kits just as fast!). 13/20 spends used to cover extension lead. Woo how exciting ha ha. Happy Monday everyoneJan 18 Joint debts 35,213
