They say it comes in threes. I'm not gonna go into detail but I think our number three has just hit. On the plus side the sun is shining a little bit todayJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I've 25 pounds in my chase account and 50 in the slush fund which I'm trying not to use. I will need bread milk etc through the week so I won't be too far off, quite nice to have a slush fund actually. Feels less naughty than using an e fund. Was hoping to move 250 to e fund but only managed 100. Better than nothing I supposeJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Haven't heard from first interview. They spent a good while talking about upcoming full time vacancies and gauging my interest so although interview went well I reckon they had decided on someone already earlier in the day maybe. The full time roles they were offering I said were something I probably wouldn't consider but best to be honest. The full time jobs were quite different to what I was applying for
Second interview saying they are still interviewing into next week so it may be wed before I hear. But they only contact successful applicants. I have interviewed before and used that line so not sure I got that one either. Gelled really well with one interviewer, couldn't seem to get the other one on board as much. But will seeJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Fingers crossed DH can be back as work asap and not too much of a gap in pay.
Well done of getting £100 into the emergency fund. All the amounts will add up and hopefully you wont be needing it any time soon.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hope DH's work issues are sorted quickly. Well done on adding to the EF as well. Slush fund is a great thing to have too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks I've never been able to separate money for a slush fund before. I've tried to save but my budget has always been so tight it's been a struggle. This is the money left over from weekly food and petrol spends. It will get used over time, probably when more random letters from school come or the maiden breaks etc but it will be nice to not have to cut the food shop to cover these things which is what I've had to do till now.
I've got 217 in the emergency fund and am aiming for that elusive 1000 againJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Got offered job number one but have declined. Part time hrs not quite enough and too varied in working patterns. Full time post they asked me about was shift work, very varied patterns and although sounded interesting was not the same as what I applied for originally. Good confidence boost though. I'm very rusty with interviews but feel more confident now.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Congratulations on the offer, but if not right then no point taking it for the sake of it, especially as its not clear what is happening as yet. As you say, a nice confidence boostMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
