Not entitled to the free school dinners unfortunately. I haven't paid everything that's been asked for at school don't worry!!. Swimming costs I've paid as it is the contribution to the lessons at school which is just one term. They do all also do swim lessons outside of school and budget wise I'm holding on with fingertips. Eldest could save himself in calm water but his hormones have kicked in so it's a way of getting some angst out once a week. Other two are- one just about able to swim a length and one still struggling. It's a month notice to quit swimming but the school swimming is only this term so I'll see what happens.

Still working but with no official role. It's been two weeks since I was told my job role has ceased and aside from a health and wellbeing link in an email and a quick how are you feeling from my boss that's it. I've still not been told the process or the consultation procedure. Anyone else think that's poorly managed.

Have an interview with a local care agency on friday doing Dom care visits-not a job that I want to live off but would provide ad hoc hours here and there to add to funds. Heard some bad things about them but I'll go with an open mind. If all else fails it's a ready set up option to fall back on isn't it. I'm open to similar work just not sure about the quick visits nature of it. I'll see what they say

That sounds incredibly poorly managed. Restructuring going on here and there are 121s for those at risk, lots of guidance on wellbeing for all staff and a published policy on the procedures and timelines. We also have all staff Q&As as well as team ones.

Yes that's the sort of thing you would expect....it's really not nice for you and restructuring is a horrible time isn't it. But yes I thought timeframes, explanation of the policy and acknowledgement of the situation , not just bumbling along till my manager "hears something"...I'm in no rush to loose my job and I don't actually like any other jobs the trust has advertised at the moment but it's ridiculous isn't it really for a large company. At the moment I'm picking and choosing what work to do and who to help. Apparently there is a list of things I should have done from the admin teams manager but no one told me she had written one so hey ho I did my own thing. I've got two interviews lined up this week..one in the private sector (similar hourly rate but not quite as many hrs) the other is agency work so I can be employed elsewhere  but not actually leave.

  • Guess whose been asked for more money from a school. Ha ha. Been asked to send in cakes or biscuits for Macmillan coffee morning, send child with money to buy back and I can go in to buy cakes for first hr of the day if I wish!
All reasonable requests, doable within my shopping budget and teaches child how to give and care for others.

Forget no spend days I'm gonna have to count the no request days 😂

We had a school trip letter for kids to see how maths is used in the real world request yesterday.  It was for DS and he doesn't do trips so wont force him lol.  He sees me using maths in the everyday world so plenty of observations here.  Love the idea of counting the no request days :)

Can't believe it's only wed. My weekly budget is looking sad, unexpected hospital visit with child and expensive parking blew all chances of a surplus.... and DH crashed his car today so everything is gonna be down the pan for a while. everyone alright though so that's the main thing.
Got an interview Thursday and another one on Friday. Neither is 100% perfect but both contenders for different reasons. Still undecided whether I should be looking or sitting it out. Guess my feedback from my interviews over the next couple of days will decide that. Gonna cancel the Dom care interview as it was only for bank work as a back up plan and it clashes with one of the above i've been offered. Then at weekend I will have to Google my name and what day it is and attempt to get back on track

Another school trip here as well.

Sorry to hear about child and DH, hope they are both ok and that's most important.

    Good luck with the interviews.

I hope todays interview went well and good luck for tomorrow.  It is hard to know what to do especially as work are not telling you anything.

I hope child and DH are ok and that the insurance will sort the car out

Thankyou. I'm exhausted with all the drama and the interviews ha ha. There's two of us at work that have lost our "role". If it was just me I'd be thinking of putting them on the spot but she has two to three years to retirement and may just decide to bow out early -we are striking a fine balance between forcing anything to happen soon and ignoring how ludicrous it is to not be kept informed. We are both on board and open with each others needs and get on really well -as long as it drags on we are bumbling round in a warm office doing random stuff and being paid. The concern is the consultation period kicks in and ends Xmas/Jan time when less jobs tend to be advertised.
Im taking the view that it's a new venture and who knows where it might take me.
