  • Cards still show pending but it's definitely put me back over 19k - should only be temporarily.
I got taxed at basic rate on the bank work which I expected but if I'm owed anything  I'll get it back at the end of the year so its no great worry.
I've not  been offered many surveys this week but a break won't do me any harm. I'll check every day next week and see what happens/if more appear then decide. I've cashed out everything and haven't accrued any points for next cash out yet so I've not wasted anything.
Fairly low key plans for the rest of the week. One activity bought and paid for earlier in the year but otherwise aiming for low spends

  • Payday today and all balances checked. Debts showing as 19076. So just over  19 again. I'm due a 20 refund and will be back under 19k by next payday. A bit gutted but with uniforms footwear and a broken appliance in the last few weeks it's as good as it can be.

  • Money swapped to chase account.
Food 175 (my new weekly budget with the aim of beating it and moving to slush fund)
Weekly Petrol 20 and activities fund 20.

Chase account is proving helpful for budgeting. I've Earned 10 in cash back so far, got 17 in my round up pot, 40 in a slush fund pot and 46 in my school trip fund. They all earn interest which is a novelty for me I'll admit as it's a long time since that's happened. I'm still a little unsure about using an online bank as opposed to bricks and mortar one so I'll just swap money in weekly for regular outgoings and keep my actual bank accounts for wages and bills.

Definitely sounds like the chase account is helping you to budget well.  You will soon be under the 19k and working towards the 18k.

  • Thankyou. The nice thing about the chase account is I can kind of ignore what's going on in the main one. I've worked out a budget that incorporates weekly and monthly costs but when childcare fluctuates in different parts of term or it's a four or a five week month it can mess things up a bit. In six.months I'll know if it's helped or not ha ha

You'll soon be back under £19k again.  Glad Chase is working for you.

Two days till weekly spends reset and 20 pounds left. Any left over goes in a Slush fund for now.
Had a couple of trips out this week but tickets paid for earlier in year. Aiming to keep on budget and build the slush and emergency fund whilst debts tick over and stay steady. And I've signed up to zip zero. I pinched this idea from someone's diary not sure which one now but thankyou. It will be a slow burner but slow and steady wins the race eh!

  • Managed to put 17 pounds in the slush fund which is now at 60. New budget week is currently underway. By time.ive put towards school dinner bought food and snack stuff for pack lunches I already feel like I'm sweating. How can money just evaporate like that on food. Crackers. I've promised the kids a McDonald's before return to school so must remember that if I wasn't doing that the budget would have been easier. Reset day Friday 52 pounds still in the pot. Let's see if any left on Friday morning for the slush fund

  • I've been watching some Dave Ramsey and debt free screams things. Very interesting but a bit intense. His step one is 1000 dollars emergency fund. About 750 in pounds I think. If all goes well my e fund will be 300 by the end of the month.... It's a start right 😂😂😂
