So today's news is my job role is terminated with immediate effect..I'm still employed and HR will be in touch over the next few days to explain the consultancy period and advise on options etc but the service I do as my job role has finished as of today's meetingJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I'm so sorry to hear this. Is there likely to be any redundancy pay for you to keep you going until you find another?Me, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 15, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/191

Oh no, was this expected in any way or completely out of the blue? At least there is a role for now, hopefully it will end up being a positive move and you'll end up doing something you enjoy more xxMortgage free 2021Debt free 2024

I hopefully can be redeployed it's just whether there is anything suitable/what I want they are willing to let me do instead (beggars can't be choosers) redundancy pay was mentioned but I've not had full details yet. I think I'd rather avoid that and know I'm still working somewhere without the hassle of a gap/applying elsewhere. Though I'm looking around as wellslm6002 said:I'm so sorry to hear this. Half expected. In a nut shell the service I work for has been cut and now no longer will be funded. And yes change should be embraced and it will take me in a new direction (hope that turns out to be true)Rud0lf said:Oh no, was this expected in any way or completely out of the blue? Thanks everyone.plodding along for now till HR get in touch to formally start it all. Not that I'm rushing things but I think being told the service is finitio and my job is kaput then not having the HR input on the same day about timeframes is crap managementJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

That's awful! Hopefully it will turn into a good opportunity for you though."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

So 2 days later I've had an email with a link in for the staff wellbeing service in case I wish to seek support. Now I know I'm employed for time being and still have income etc but surely when you drop a clanger like your job role no longer exists as from this minute you are supposed to do a bit more than that. Randomly did tiny bits of work to help the admin team to pass the time. Can't say I was working at full speed though

I don't blame you to be honest, and yes, wellbeing support should be a priority in that situation!NeverendingDMP said:So 2 days later I've had an email with a link in for the staff wellbeing service in case I wish to seek support.
