Easy to open another TSB account, I opened 2 within last 24 hours.PloughmansLunch said:
Ah, bum. Never mind. I’m sure another switch offer or two will be along soon enough.flaneurs_lobster said:
That page has the magic words (and link) at the bottom "T&Cs Apply" which do say that a new account is needed.PloughmansLunch said:
I’d like to know this too - annoyingly I’d just opened a save and spend a couple of days before the switch promo started. The T&Cs PDF that was originally posted on the forum made seem like it has to be a new account, but this page doesn’t actually mention anything about opening a new account:pecunianonolet said:Can you switch in to an existing account? Have two existing current accounts and do not want to open another current account and risk another hard search (got quite a few searches in the last 12-14 weeks so need to slow down).

There is a search on my credit file and it looked as though the account had been approved during the online process. The first time, when answering a question about needing an overdraft, no, a message came up about a technical problem, go back to the home page. Second time got as far as entering a username and password. Lo and behold, the same message.I did phone and there is no record of the application and no idea why it was happening even after advising of the 2014 account and providing log in details for that. There has to be a record, they did a credit file search!I'll have to give this one a miss.I deleted cookies too.
I had this issue also twice! Third attempt was successful.

Am I right to think that 2 DDs do not need to be part of the full switch. It could be added later after the switching completed as long as it is active by 24 March 2023?0

I switched through the top cash back deal but doesn't seem to be showing up as pending or anything and so it doesn't seem to have tracked? Does anyone if it's just a case of only appearing when the criteria has been met or something?0

Not TCB but I opened a TSB account via Quidco (not yet actioned switch) and the Tracked £30 entry appeared same day.andyhicks88 said:I switched through the top cash back deal but doesn't seem to be showing up as pending or anything and so it doesn't seem to have tracked? So my complications are that
1) I have my old account lined up to do a close and switch
2) I've just applied and been accepted for a new TSB 'spend and save' account
3) They asked me to set up NEW separate online identity banking details [done]
4) To switch now: I tried to complete the online adobe form [obviously I was not signed into anywhere]
5) It doesn't like the '777258' entered for sort code [does TSB have any others?]
Should I wait the week or so for the freshly registered online identity I have created to reach me as well as card /pin etc?
Should I try to switch only when these things arrive?
[I have sneaking a feeling this is going to not go smoothly for TSB given their previous IT experience and loss of CEO].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Seems odd to me that you can complete a TSB current account switch request form without being logged into a TSB secure session (and I agree that you can because I've just tried it). You don't even need to provide debit card details which (eg) RBS do on their request form.Milarky said:So my complications are that

Can't help much w/ the sort codes, 77-72-58 is a TSB branch on the IoW, my TSB code is 87-37-31 which is the general purpose online Leeds "branch".

I have just tried it again and completed and submitted successfully - it was hanging on the S/C previously but not this time. [..so we're 'away'!]flaneurs_lobster said:

I'm in the same boat as @Milarky - have existing TSB logon details and a donor account with two newly set up DDs.
So, is it possible to register for a spend and save current account keeping my existing TSB login details, or do I have to register again? Know they worked, as I logged in last night !
Could I keep logon if I downloaded the app and appled via there with existing details?Mortgage and debt free. Building up savings...0 -
TSB have a crazy system where when you apply for an account, even if you're logged in, they log you out and assign you a new user id. They tell you that you'll get the security code to set up the new id in a few days and also tell you that if you have an existing login the new one will be merged with the old one soon.financialbliss said:I'm in the same boat as @Milarky - have existing TSB logon details and a donor account with two newly set up DDs.

And that is exactly what happens - they give you the new id, send the new id security stuff but, in my case a week or two ago, by the time the new login codes arrived the new account was already visible on my old login.
So no need to worry about new logins, or trying to keep the old, they will give you a new one, but they will merge it with the existing one. So you can then ignore the new one, which i assume becomes invalid once its merged..
Why they have such a ridiculous system is anyone's guess but there's no need to worry about it as it does all work out in the end!3
