If they want to admit you over Christmas then there must be good and possibly urgent reason. Crossing my fingers that they can sort things out for you and help improve your condition.

Having a quiet day as DDs are out so surfing to my hearts content.

DD is in a carol service at the church tonight so looking forward to that.

No idea what to make for tea - might do soup on the hob rather than the slow cooker- or maybe cauli cheese.
Still need to write cards and wrap presents but can't get round to it.

PENPIN - (((hugs))) to you; if you have to go in it's because it is necessary, although I can understand you not wanting to. Thinking of you and hoping everything works outs.

NICOLA - all the best with the baby and (((hugs))) to you.

REDRUBY - where did you find such a flattering picture of AUSSIE and her DH? I'm sure the 'lunchboxes' would not have been so impressive if they were enjoying this freezing cold weather!

(((Hugs))) to all the poorly (big ones and little), snotty, tired, worried, busy and stressed on here.

My DH informed me late last night that he 'might take the day off tomorrow'. So I told him he 'will' take the day off and get it over and done with. He has been on the phone all morning anyway, arranging work, but I did manage to get him to do a few jobs. He has now gone out to inspect a job for tomorrow and I have finally found five mins on here. I have been wrapping up like a mad thing this morning but I actually feel as if I am getting somewhere. After dinner tonight, we are going to PC World to pick up a gaming chair for DS2 - I couldn't get one in my car yesterday; his car is bigger so it will go in that.

Like everyone else on here, my brain just will not switch off - there seems to be a thousand and one things to get done by the big day and I can hardly think straight. We're picking my Mum up from Wiltshire on Sunday and I want to get all sorted out before then - apart from doing the veg on Christmas eve. Mum can only stay until Boxing day because she has an appointment with the eye specialist the following day, and, if she had turned down that appointment, she would have to wait another couple of months; fortunately, my brother is taking her back. On the Thursday, my BIL and SIL will be coming down to stay the night - they always do just after Christmas and by then, we are all so cream-crackered that we just veg out on the sofa. They come from Devon and always bring lashings of clotted cream and I have to devise a luxury pudding to eat it with so I shall be trawling the indexed collections later!

Well, I'd better go and get some more wrapping up done - although my tendonitis is starting to play up. I bought myself one of those large sellotape dispensers which has really helped - wouldn't be without it now.

For all you Eastbournites - it's not that far from me, although I doubt I'd make it by car - my navigational skills are not just second to none, they are none! I'm sure I could make it by train and, as AMIE is not too far away, we'll have to see what we can arrange in the New Year. It would be great to put names to faces - I wonder how many of us will be as the others picture us? (If that makes sense?!)

Anyway, back to the grindstone. I hope you all manage to get some 'me' time today - although it will be difficult for those with LOs just finishing school or home poorly.

Hope to pop back in later.

REDRUBY - yes, it would be great if we could all meet. We'll have to decide on a place handy for all but it would really be something to look forward to, wouldn't it?

I don't think AUSSIE will ever forgive you for that but, oh, it was funny!

Well, I'm taking another break from the wrapping up - mainly because I had to come back downstairs for some more sellotape so that's my excuse for finding my way back here again. This week before Christmas is always the same, no matter how organised we intend to be. I really thought I was on top of things but I always forget how long it takes to wrap the presents up and what a muddle it all is, plus, it has to be kept hidden away or easy to hide if someone interrupts. This is why I turned my spare room into a 'wrapping room' - the only drawback is that I don't make myself clear up after each session. I just kick everything away from the entrance and shut the door on it. Next year I willbe even more organised - yeah, see those pigs flying?

Oh well, this time next week I'll be chillin' and the rest of the family will be sorting out their own meals!

Well, nearly time to put on my 'only-visible-in-the-dark' window lights. I was going to buy another set to use during the day but I think I want to stop spending now!

DH still needs to replace the toilet seat - we bought it on Sunday but he hasn't got round to it. If I do it, I'll do it wrong and we'll end up with no seat at all. He keeps saying 'remind me' but, with the amount of tea he puts away, he spends half his time in the loo - you'd think that would remind him. The new seat is in there propped against the wall. I think I'll put his toolbox in there as well.

Well, I really must get back to the wrapping up. I want to do dinner early tonight so that we can get to PC World - I must find out what time they close.

    Will see you all later.

Just a quick visit to say .....
Thriftlady - definitely go for it - people will be more intersted in your thrifty ways than what you look like
Pen-pin - as others have said there must be a good reason for admitting you and if ou don't go now you may have to wait ages to the detriment of our health - you can always have a late christmas if needs be
Nicola1982 - best of luck for you and baby
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
