Only today and tomorrow for me then off until the 2nd - I am so blooming tired it's untrue. I don't like working the last week before Christmas but then I never like it very much at any time of the year. Don't get me wrong - I like working I just don't like my job, but hopefully this is going to be fixed soon.
Hope you all have a good day! (((Hugs))) to those who need it and hope the pre-christmas mania isn't getting to you!0 -

Hi everyone
Thanks for my waves Taplady---- what is about this site that turns me into a schoolgirl hoping for a wave. Think I will have to give it up or seek serious help !!
Well returned from Spain and its freezing. But I am not complaining !!!
It was very refreshing to spend time in an area that was mostly totally uncomercialised and Christmas was a trestle table in the supermarket with a few Christmassy bits on.
However it is lovely to see everyone and I am getting up to speed with getting Christmas dinner for 9 -- keep thinking of walks along a warm beach with OH which doesnt help.
Anyway big shop and cook done yeasterday and leeks in white sauce. spiced red cabbage, creamed parsnips, cranberry sauce tucked away in the freezer
Stuffings today.
Dear D1 mahaged to write off her car during our last week away. Aquaplaned ,hit the central reservation, spun round twice and ended up ploighed into the nearside grass. What a different homecoming we would have had if someone wasnt looking after her. Car has been in the family for over 15 years - a trusted big Volvo and it served us well right to the end by saving her life because it was so solid.
I do hope everyone is not getting too stressed I can so easily remember what it was like when you had the littlies to cope with as well-- magical memories but hectic,
Good Luck everyone in finishing up and special gentle thoughts to all those who are feeling sad lonely or just aloneTry and do a good deed every day.0 -

I didn't sleep well last night so OH has let me have the day off, bless him. I have a tonne of washing to do and need to clean the spare room as FIL is staying tommorrow night.
I made most of my sweets last night but need to do another batch of fudge as OH has been picking.
Going to scrabble for something in the freezer for tea and do a Chilli in the SC for tommorrow.

            Hello Possums

Today I made a loaf of bread, granola & yoghurt cake. Ironed. DGS & XDIL came over until lunch. This arv I mowed the lawn and did a bit of weeding. I really must get back in the yard. It needs it. The weeds just grow overnight in this hot weather. Not that you lot would understand.
Two of my plants have died. I suppose that's not too bad. I've planted heaps.
Tomorrow I'm going with DH and hope to get a few last things in the supermarket. I think DGS is sleeping over tomorrow night as well. I think they are doing their Christmas shopping when OS knocks off work.
Mrs Mix :santa2:
Kyle You sound fed up. <hugs> Have you only 2 bedrooms?
arlybarly Hope you dry up soon.
dlb Hope your DD has a good day. You may be able to have a nap as well.
Tru How special are you to get 2 robins.
Well off to have a surf. Hope you all have a great day & hugs to those sick or cold. BTW I wore stripy thermals under my clothes all the time when I was over there. I looked like a bumble bee but I was warm.
Byeeeeee Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

            Good morning:santa2:
It's a cold, frosty one in London, and I'm wondering if the sun will get round to defrost my windscreen before I have to go out:D After my shopping trip yesterday, I've remembered some more presents I'd forgotten:o Ho hum, back to the shops again.
Chalky, welcome home and so glad your DD is OK. She must be terribly shaken-up though, (((hugs))) to her.
kyle, sorry the kids are playing you up so much. Probably not helped by all being in together, we always had to have them share (but in twos), and the ones that shared were the ones that argued if you can understand that. Try to get a breather from them, even just a 10 minute walk on your own can be very calming.
Must get going, there's ironing, more washing, tidying up shopping and cooking to do!!! And I have to keep looking out of the window to see if anyone is trying to deliver my bargain Panasonic bread-maker:rotfl: Mine is a present to me, so I won't have to wait until Christmas:D
Keep warm, and have a good day!
Aussie in stripey thermals, now there's an image to conjure with:rotfl: :eek:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
