I don’t believe this is a genuine thread either. There’s no way Cazoo is writing off a £20k car. Any company would ask the OP to pay and if they didn’t would take them to court where they’d easily win.

For a few hundred quid they’d write it off but £20k? Not a chance.
Do you want me to show you the invoice ??
    Not really.

Either you’re making this up or Cazoo will be chasing you for the money in a few months time, despite what they’ve supposedly already said. No company would write off £20k just like that or they would no longer exist as a company.

I’m out though. Good luck with whatever it is you achieve.

    This is strange:

Question 1 - What did you pay when you ordered the car? How Much? [ Presume online payment ]
Question 2 - What did you pay when the car was delivered? How Much? [ Presume payment via card to delivery driver? ]

Question 3 - IF you do have a £20k car for basically nothing - why are you posting about it on a internet forum that Cazoo will probably see?

Did YOU pay the £20K but Cazoo wrote incorrectly that you had only paid £175 on the invoice or did you only pay £175 out of your bank account?

This has got to be a wind up if it's the latter.
  • What was the P/X vehicle? make, model, year, mileage that you were meant to be part exchanging in error.

Therein could well lie the obvious pointer to this all being the simple admin error - there are not many people that trade in a £20k car to buy a £20k retail car.  It happens, but edge cases such as trading in a 2-seater convertible when triplets arrived.

I do wonder whether this thread is in the correct part of the forum.  Should it be moved to "Car Dealers Rights"?

It does seem strange to part ex the same value of vehicle. Or as suggested in this thread the OP is making it all up.

Also with online car dealers, does the final amount get paid before delivery?  Anyone on here bought from Cazoo?

Yes, it is THEIR problem, but they'll soon fix THEIR problem by sending an invoice for the outstanding £20k balance to the OP, and the OP can just pay it. If they don't pay, then legal action will commence...

As the haven't yet paid for the car, they are not the owner,

If the OP has any common sense, they will stop phoning Cazoo and WRITE to them pointing out the error, and asking them to contact them him ASAP so the balance can be paid.

Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I had to pay upfront about a week before delivery. There was also a £149 delivery charge, but I suppose this might vary according to distance to the customer?

For the record, I did not have a part exchange for them to collect.

Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T

The delivery charge is a set charge and not based on distance.

Standingstrong how was the payment system different for you?  Seems you are misleading the forum somewhere.
