Hi, daughter in law-to-be visited today and I explained the problem with the quilt and she was great about it so the pressure is off. I sourced 3 of the fabrics online but the matching border fabric is only available from the USA and the postage is £18.64 so definitely not buying that. I'm going to the Creative Crafts Show in Glasgow next month so shall see if I can find suitable fabric there and will finish the quilt for the couple's one month anniversary 😉.
I didn't sew the bags yesterday as I had to go and visit a friend - I've cut out the fabric this afternoon and will finish them tomorrow. Today ddil-to-be brought a couple of sewing jobs for the wedding. Grandson's wedding trousers needed hemmed. They are size 9-12 months and I had to shorten them by 3cm. They are so tiny and he is 16 months old. I also have to make a man's tie into a toddler's tie. It matches his dad's tie. I've never done this before so I'll be googling that 🤔. If anyone has any advice on this please let me know.

HI
I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed looking back through to see all the beatiful things you have made.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to "sort" the posts so that the most recent ones appear first? At the moment they are coming up with the oldest first so I'm having to start at the back to see the latest ones, if that makes sense?
thanks7 -

Hi, I've finished the wedding sewing and am really pleased with the small tie. I found a video on YouTube by How to Hailey showing how to make a toddlers tie from an adult one. It was pretty easy except making the knot. I had to watch the video about 10 times in slow motion to figure out how to flip the fabric but it was worth it as it's so cute 🥰.
Today I am going to start a cushion for the young couple who were married in Italy last month. It will have details of the wedding embroidered on it.

If you look at the page numbers you can goto the last page and work backwards. This maybe is what you are doing?
I think the threads are sort of designed like a book, so you start reading a thread at page 1 and read it through in chronological order to get the sense of the timescale. Your device should remember where you leave off reading and take you back to that post. Once you've caught up, it should take you to the first of the unread posts.
Have you 'bookmarked' threads you enjoy? That way you can see immediately if there is new posts on threads you are involved with.
Hope this answers but if you are unsure (or if I've muddied rather than clarified) just shout out 😃

I've been looking for a bag to hold specific things - like a knitting bag width but deep enough to hold a4. Haven't been able to find one so I had a go at making one. Its turned out slightly too deep but im not remaking lol.
Made from:
outer - offcuts of curtains i made for a customer plus denim from old jeans.
Inner: an old blanket I was going to get rid of then some sheeting someone gave me. Bottom is stiffened with bits of cardboard.
Handles: the double seam of 2 legs from old jeans. I like frayed denim so I'm leaving them with this look. They are held on with 4 keyring bits kept from old keyrings and D rings cut off something I've chucked out probably years ago, maybe a rucksack or jacket (nothing gets chucked out of here without buttons, zips, fixings etc taken off and kept for justin)
I need to cover the cardboard tomorrow to make it look finished
It needed to be wide enough to get my music stand and treble recorder in but deep enough for music books and my lessons paperwork. Folded up music stand is quite heavy so bag needed to be fairly sturdy. I'm reasonably happy with it. If I was making it again I'd do it maybe 2inch shallower but it will do the job it was designed for and other than breaking 2 needles on the denim which is always a risk with multiple layers of denim, it was made out of everything sitting in boxes or shelves waiting to be used up 😊

Daisy that is lovely
I used to play the treble recorder along with descant and tenor. Even now I can say notes of Men of Harlech….. was taught that over and over at school - still remember the class and screeching lol. Your bag looks perfect.

Auti ive only just started learning. Its taking a while to get into my noggin. I have to really concentrate and I'm only on 5 notes so far lol. I can play odd things on descant by ear (and probably the treble I suppose) but this is the first time I've tried to learn to read music. I think I'm getting it then, mind goes blank. Bet my teacher will tell me i should have spent time practicing rather than making a bag 😂 🤣 😆
Stuff I learnt as a bairn is still in there, so much harder learning now however I'm enjoying it, which is the main thing

daisy_1571 - you will get there and it is fun
I have these on the kitchen wall for my child to see when he is eating breakfast (along with other stuff) and it is surprising what gets remembered just by randomly reading stuff.
