@kiss_me_now9 the back of the pattern will tell you. Just be mindful that if the pattern is for jersey or knit materials, you will need to make it out of knit materials not a pillowcase. You can often find 2 way or 4 way stretch cheaply from places like Fabworks or Pound Fabrics. I didn't like pound a metre as the material I got from them was filthy.

@KajiKita i use a supermarket silks and wools wash, but not very much of it. I've got quite a few wool or wool blend jumpers, gloves and socks, and none of them have kept their crispness. That is probably due to washing in the washing machine though! Even with a fancy wool wash setting, it still can't be great. I'm too lazy to try handwashing unless they're really dirty though.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get used to this new format. Obviously showing my age that I just hate change 😳.
I'm still not getting out much so having to find things to do. Last week I went through all my wardrobes. I was brutally honest with myself as to why I didn't wear some clothes. I ended up with a large bag to go to the charity shop and another big bundle of clothes that needed altered. Mostly sleeves that needed shortened - I obviously have short arms 😳. I also altered a lovely scarf I've had for 5 years and never worn. I bought it from a Moroccan street vendor in New York. I love this memory. I realised it was too wide and chunky so I sewed a line of stitching 8" from edge and cut off 7.5". I then spent ages pulling out the threads to have a fringed edge matching the other side. I'm so pleased with the finished result and will definitely be wearing it this winter.

I've finished knitting my cardigan and now have to pick up stitches and knit neckband, button and buttonhole bands. I've been putting it off all week as I don't really like doing this but it'll be a nice finish. Then the really horrible job of sewing it all together. My goal will be to get it all done this week.

@Florenceem the Christmas stockings are great. I may make some for family and friends dogs.

This afternoon I'm going to binge watch some of my favourite Bruce Willis action films and start picking up stitches 🥴
    Happy crafting xx

@Florenceem they are lovely, really pretty fabric 😊

I have had a long call with an old friend who is desperately trying to sell off her fabrics (she ran a market stall and online shop during covid but demand has now dried up) so that she can empty her garage to move out after a relationship breakdown. I have three lots of furniture weight fabric in lovely colours to (attempt to!) make new dining table cloths from. Very chuffed as I have been cogitating about how to tackle my 10 year old(ish?), wearing-out, table cloth for some time …. 🤔 I won’t attempt to actually make them though, until the building works in the lounge are finished! 😂
