Wraithlady said:Hi,
Would like to join in this year again - I actually managed to hit my target so another 12 makes for 2023 (1 a month seems doable).
I won'r embarrass myself by calling attention to the size of my stashes, but really need to get them down
12 is not modest - it's amazing x
Trust me I bet you have nothing to be embarrassed about with your stash - if you show me yours - I'll show you mine - which I guarantee will make you feel so much better x

I will put a target spend of £200 but I aim to really not spend much at all.
As for number of items to make - ?
I have so many ufos/wips - some are knitting which I can't remember what the project is! Then I have sewing makes in progress and my stash - well!
Great to have you onboard and happy stash busting xMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.024 -
@Soontobeoap that is great wallpapering. So fiddly with all the cuts. And wow that plate is super, lovely vibrant colours.
@Stashbuster that plate is gorgeous. I have never tried calligraphy...maybe when my stash is down.
@daisy_1571 that is a great basket, so pretty and useful too. And well done on finishing it with the bits from your stash.
I decided to concentrate on things already in the lounge cupboards. I am only a novice knitter but have a huge quantity of pins that were my mums, so I sorted them, and all the very thin ones I took upstairs, and made a list, so I know what I have.
I have started on addressing my remaining bead stash. I used to have even more, but had a good go at ebaying it a few years ago, and only kept a selection so that I could make my mum a few strings at Christmas. ( she died a couple of years ago aged 99). So I am going to make as many necklaces as possible for the charity shop. I have threaded quite a few onto strings and now need to put clasps on. Hope my glue for putting on the knots hasn't gone off.2025 craft items finished 11/12

@old_fogey thank you so much for your lovely comments. Please send pics of your necklaces when they are finished.
@daisy_1571 the basket looks beautiful. I would keep my ongoing crochet projects in that happily.

Have sewn up the top but made an error with the neckband so wI’ll have to redo, but relieved to find it fits! Going to unpick neckband tonight (it’s overlocked though so may take a while) then while. I’m off work tomorrow I’ll pop on a new neckband it’ll have to be a contrasting fabric though so thinking of swapping the cuffs to make it look like it’s meant to be different.
Chipping away at the craft stash one item at a time
2023:
10 cards
3 baby dresses
8 scrunchies4 -
@Soontobeoap and @Stashbuster I love the plates.
I wish I was able to write free hand onto things but it really does not work for me - even putting things onto paper I have to pencil sketch things about 4 times before hand!Stashbuster said:Ooops I didn’t do that well at this last year. I started off well but quickly fell off the wagon of determination and rolled into the fabric shopTime to find me again5 -
Well
I am firmly blaming @Stashbuster for the few hours I lost on hobbycraft last night.
I sat down merrily and was replying to posts on MSE when I saw yours and thought oh it wont hurt to have a look on hobbycraft for some ideas for my giftcard spending since I wont be near a shop any time soon.
But I do need some white vinyl for my cricut, especially with easter coming before long.....
....and pastel card will obviously help to make some easter cards.......
.....and if I buy the little guillotine then I can cut it neatly to fit in my cricut.......
Started looking at wooden rounds and blanks to use with my new pyrography kit I got at Christmas.
(Husband - we have a saw and theres woodland behind us - why not make your own rounds and shapes? Good idea husband!)
Back to Hobbycraft
.....surely everyone needs pom pom makers at Easter so this pack of 4 will be great to make bunny tails with.....
.....oh and this little ceramic bunny would be so pretty painted up for my grandmother as a small easter token since shes highly religious and loves pretty little things like this.....
.....speaking of pretty things - this geometric suncatcher would look so pretty painted and hung in the front door window......
but thats it.....
......oh but I didnt check the clearance section.....
.....oh look at this macrame string shopping bag pattern - £2.30 bargain.......
(Husband chimes in - have you ever done Macrame? ....... No but why should that stop me? )
......oh I need Macrame String...........3 for 2........well it would be rude not too wouldnt it.
Lets go to check out - oh your at £49.80 and your giftcard is £50 - marvellous......
.....'since your a valued member heres a £5 voucher for money off and FREE delivery........
....well I guess I obviously need 6 glass jars to craft with and maybe preserve some garden veg later in the year......
Moral of the story.
Dont late night shop on hobbycraft.
I now have more things to make and have used £49.32 of my £60 allowance!
Husband has also granted me permission to use his electric hand saw to go hacking up fallen trees to make into further projects too.......oh dear.Time to find me again6 -
@sammy_kaye18 you got loads of nice things there from Hobbycraft. It will certainly keep you busy!
Over the past few weeks, I have followed links for craft supplies sales, have put things in my basket. Then had a coffee, gone back and decided I really can manage without. So have managed to resist....so far. But the temptation is there.
I have not put the clasps on the necklaces yet. I have moved the beads upstairs, there will be more to restring at some point.
I have continued to clear out a cupboard in the lounge. There was a part finished reindeer - I was learning to crochet, hopefully will finish for next Christmas! Also a WIP cardigan from maybe 4 years ago, done the back, fronts and half a sleeve. Not keen on the wool or pattern, but it will do for round the house. Just need to find the pattern now. Also found 10 or so finished bead necklaces, so more for the charity shop. I used to sell necklaces on ebay, stopped Christmas 2019, intended to send the surplus to the charity shop, but Covid happened, and it now seems a lifetime ago rather than 3 years.
I now have space in the cupboard, so I will put any current projects in there I think.2025 craft items finished 11/12

Put the clasps on. The photo that includes the blue splodgy ones are these.
I am counting these as one make for my tally. There are also two more of the small bead coral coloured one. The other photo is the ones found at the back of the cupboard. Some nice beads there, I am sure the charity shop will be happy.
Next for sorting through is a wooden sewing box that has some of my cross stitch / embroidery stuff in. It is quite deep, and I havent opened it for about 4 years, so I am looking forward to having a rummage! The weather here is still icy, so I am making the most of it for crafting, once it warms up I will need to get stuck into the garden.
