2023 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

Good morning, it's bright this morning but I don't think the rains' far away.
I've knitted the back and both sleeves of the cardi for dgd. I'm on to the fronts now. I've not done any "proper" sewing for a while so I checked out my stash and chose 5 fat quarters to make a girl's cot quilt. I'm enjoying doing it and there's no pressure as I'll just keep it and gift it sometime in the future.@Cupcakecraftscuddlycanine I ❤️ your fun pumps
I think I'll do some sewing today - happy crafting xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

I must confess I did zero cross-stitch last week. I got sucked into a video game (Legend of Grimrock, it's like a dungeon crawler/puzzle game) that took up all my free time, and even my not so free time. I'm ashamed to admit I had some late bed times. I'm at the last boss fight now, so hopefully life will soon return to regular programming.
I did pick up the fox last night for a couple of hours while I watched a film, but not a lot of progress since the last pic

I had 2 panels to do for my quilting group- 1 was on the theme of hearts and flowers and had to be quilted which I've not done much of so its not brilliant but will look fine added in with all the others' panels
The other is exploding pineapple. They gave us the white and we were to use any batic that we had. I had some wee bits that I think are batic enough so hopefully will be fine.
Quite a nice technique

I love looking and reading about at all your makes, it is very inspiring and encouraging.
I have finished the bedroom curtains. Hurray! I had a bit of a hold up as I ran out of the coloured thread, and it wasn't worth doing a special 20mile round trip to get more. I am very pleased with them. The first time I have used buckram for the heading, so bit of a learning curve there.
I am taking my sewing machine in for a service/repair next week, as it no longer goes backwards. I thought I could live with it like that, but it is a pain. Poor thing, I have had it over 40 years, and I don't think it has been serviced, but I do oil it.
I am going to make a bag to store the foot pedal in next, I have been meaning to for years.

Well after three months of being fairly angelic (for me!) I’ve not only fallen off the wagon, I’ve rolled under the wheels.
I got rid of two large bags of fabric I probably wouldn’t use by posting on a neighbourhood facebook group… then have promptly spent a small fortune on new fabric… I’m going to have to make a lot now to make room for it - or be even more ruthless and take all the odd bits I’ve been hanging on to down to the Scrap Shack for donation.
on the plus side the majority of the fabric was on sale so at least the bill was a little lower than it could have been 🙈. Almost finished two little baby dresses too.Chipping away at the craft stash one item at a time

Soontobeoap the daisies are cut from fabric leaving an edge of the background blue then stitched on by hand. Very simple but I didn't have time to do anything more complicated

@Soontobeoap
Thanks. My grandmother is always card making to raise funds for her church so Im hoping I can sit and make her a few and send them on. I really do need to sit and have a proper play with my cricut as I only really use it a little at the minute whilst I find my feet with it.
I really do need to buy some more blank cards and sleeves for them. I dont have any but I will wait until Wednesday to maybe treat myself.
Well done on all your cards! I have a few cards cross stitched ready to send that I did last year and never got around to sending so thats something but I will sit a bit later in the year and get some done but I did spend some time cutting up old christmas cards to use them this year as well.
Love the squares @daisy_1571 do you get set a theme each week in your class? Id love to learn to quilt but I have enough projects going at the minute to get through.
I will have a look at decoupage sheets for the dinosaurs - that's a good idea. I can get my sister to pick then to go with my nieces colour scheme for her bedroom.
@Stashbuster - I have that problem - I have a clear out and then end up replacing or filling the gap with more stuff!
@x_raphael_xx - video games are so distracting. I get lost in Fortnite for hours and all the best laid plans go to waste. My son is buying the new Hogwarts game so I can see me having to remind him to go to sleep!
No real crafting done here at the minute. I have had to have blood tests done today, then went for a walk with the husband and dogs and ended up slipping on wet rocks and taking a chunk out of my knee but the weather here today has been beautiful so I am just hoping it stays a little longer so I can have time enjoying the sunshine and getting the garden started. I need to put the greenhouse cover on still and make a start on planting some seeds. I also have soil to still move so I need to get some motivation to do that.
Time to find me again6 -
I made a simple drawstring bag for my sewing machine foot pedal, with very thick felt from my stash. It fits under the arm of the machine. Wish I had done it years ago, rather than have it in a carrier bag on the floor! I forgot to photograph it, but not much to see, it is plain not decorative.
I dropped my machine off for service/repair. I was amazed to see they have one of those huge quilting machines, that takes a double bedspread, and it can be hired. I have seen them on youtube videos in America, but never imagined there would be one here. I want to do some quilting at some point as I have my mums stash of quilting fabrics, so worth knowing about.2025 craft items finished 11/12
