Hello all
Ive been in the garden today for a little bit, checked off my to do list for other bits, spoken to my dad in a video call and visted the mother in law who has the lurgy and spoken to my doctor to find out that I actually have early diabetes and not PCOS as they thought. Fantastic. The next few days on a sugar withdrawal are going to be rough because I have a ridiculously sweet tooth. Typical I found out after Id had a mcdonalds for my lunch! Doh!
Anyway onwards and upwards, seeing the diabetes nurse on the 13th and husband is getting the day off to come along.
So today........
- more pallets acquired from neighbour for my garden
- No Robin stitching yet today but may do some later to settle my brain.
- Trying so hard to not open the HC box but really want to try the macrame!
@x_raphael_xx well done on your fox stitching. I am the same and like to use up the thread before I pack away. Glad your tarantula was ok. Such pretty things. Spiders dont bother me but some of the bigger ones do make me wince a bit.
@soontobeoap - hope you are feeling better soon. this lurgy cold bug that is doing the rounds seems to be so draining for a lot of people and no definitely no treats for them today!
@Katiehound - well done on the bags and scrunchies
@kiss_me_now9 - I think you doth protest too much about your ink purchases....I love an ink pen. Did you buy online or in a store?
@daisy_1571 - I use a cricut machine. I have the joy but from what I understand a die set needs a die cutting machine which has plates. Im not too sure how they work to be honest but I think you can do a lot of projects with them.Time to find me again6 -
@sammy_kaye18 from the CultPens website! I got Laban Aphrodite (meant to be a light blush pink but seems more oxidised blood/rust coloured to me which is slightly disappointing), Laban Poisedon (the most BEAUTIFUL Tiffany box turquoise) and Cult Pens Little Bob which is a magenta that shifts to oil slick green. So pretty.
ETA - @daisy_1571 so for those you need a 'winch' style roller machine - like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/page/1F375649-1F75-4D65-84A2-B12307C12DE3 (hopefully the link works, it's a Cricut Cuttlebug). I have a smaller CB and my mum has about four of them in various guises! You need to use them in conjunction with plates like Sammy said. I don't mind them, but find it quite hard to get the right number of plates in. Pretty hard to 'mess up' properly though.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January6 -
Thanks sammykaye and kiss me now, will investigate

Daisy, I have a die cutting machine that apparently can cut out fabric pieces for patchwork, applique etc. But I've never been brave enough to try with fabric! Maybe I should give it a go one day. (One day soon?)
I have made 3 cards today, and emptied out my plastic units ready to replace with a kallax unit tomorrow. I grumbled a lot whilst emptying and decided I absolutely have to use up lots of card and paper this year (one unit was pretty much just card and paper!). I made 2 more notebooks in the week too, so I'm now at 16/200.Make £2025 in 2025- £751.88/£2025

@sammy_kaye18 so sorry about your diabetes diagnosis. It will be hard with having a sweet tooth. Glad you rescued your cross stitch! I wish we had the ability to move dumpy bags of aggregate, as these days the builders merchants leave it as close to the road as possible.
@x_raphael_xx your fox is really coming on. Sorry to say I had to scurry past the tarantula post.
@Katiehound well done on the bags and scrunchies, you are doing really well.
@Soontobeoap I hope you are feeling much better soon.

kiss_me_now9 said:@x_raphael_xx as an arachnophobe I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that story. Tarantulas are astonishingly beautiful creatures and I want to love them but the primal part of my brain just can't
I used to be scared of spiders too, but I got bored during lockdown and started getting into exotics through watching vids on youtube. The more you watch and learn, the less scarier they are. They are kinda facinating to watch. I have one called Autumn and I popped a few fake acorns in her enclosure for decoration. She loves rolling them up and down. Some of them are so gorgeous. For those that are brave enough here are a few of my prettiest: (I hope the spoiler tags work!)

@Cupcakecraftscuddlycanine they are beautiful. So unusual. Love your nails too. When is the wedding?
Well my day was not so fruitful. Still no energy but have managed to do a bit of crochet and finish off the tabard jumper thing that I designed that has taken 3years to finish. Now I know why. It is hideous!!! The good news is that I have cleared it from my stash, just not in the way that I expected. 🤣. I have however decided that I am not a designer! I havnt counted it as a finished item. 😒craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Hi,
@Cupcakecraftscuddlycanine your card flowers are lovely, so unusual and a great way to recycle playing cards.
@old_fogey your tablet cover is coming along. Is that tapestry?
@x_raphael_xx I had to race by your 🕷 post
@sammy_kaye18 Lucky you saving your cross stitch
Today I have finished the baby bonnet and sewed a pouch to carry my powerbank and cable when travelling to visit my kids. It's a long journey to two of them and I couldn't do it without my audiobooks. Here's pics - the pouch was really fiddly and the air was blue a couple of times 🥴
Happy crafting xx

Lovely to see so many people contributing to the thread and so much crafting!
I attended a class to make a mosaic for the garden- I can't figure out how to add a photo but will try again - and have finished the seed book for my friend's birthday, just got to buy the seeds to go in the envelopes.
I've got 3 birthdays in Feb to make cards for so that is tomorrow's job. Looking forward to seeing more of everyone's makes5
