2023 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

I may have inadvertantly added to my stash yesterday.
I was taking our dog for a walk and talking about how I was looking for spare wood to create some planters for the garden with when me and my son came across 5 fly tipped pallets. We have managed to wrangle 3 of them home because quite frankly they are bleeding heavy but I now have more projects for the garden to craft once the weather gets nice so I think that might be nicer weather crafting!
Still keeping up with the BuJo though although havent done anything else craft wise still. Thinking maybe later I will sit down and do some cross stitch and try and get a bit more done towards mother in laws present - not sure if she will get it for her birthday in February or December for christmas but it depends on motivation to do it as I have only done 2 colours of one bird at the minute and theres 3 birds and a branch in total. Its not particularly big though - just needing some incentive!Time to find me again7 -
Hello
Would you mind if I join you please? I can't commit to no spending, as already need to top up a few things, like jewellery findings, but would like to spend more mindfully and definitely need to bust some stash and also bring in some money (I have a little craft business, it's dormant at the moment, but I have kept up the insurance, etc, so no excuse really)
I'd also like to make gifts to minimise spending in that area
My craft journey started with paper crafting, years back- mostly card making- I still dabble in this
I then started jewellery making
Other things I have dabbled in include pyrography (would love to do more of this) and seaglass jewellery, cards and artwork- love this and love seglass hunting
I had a Cricut machine for christmas 2022 and while I have used it lots, I'd like to do more with it in 2023. I also have a sublimation set up, to make mugs, etc. OH shares this bit though
I have lots of stash for the different crafts and it seems a shame for it to sit there
Time is an issue though, as I work long hours- I'm currently off ill, after being in hospital over Christmas
Sorry, I went on a bit there

Hi
Can I join in for 2023? 2022 was a complete bust and I didn’t really achieve much craft-wise. I have loads of projects on the go and even more to start so would like to clear as many of these as I can by the end of the year. Am going to set an initial target of 12 projects, to make it super achievable. Am currently about half way through making a jumper for my mum which I have really progressed over this last week. Am on decreasings of front, then have two sleeves to do. Hope to get that finished in the next couple of weeks, or by the end of the month at the latest. Will sit down and write a list of my WIPs and other things to start and will share in the coming weeks.

Hi, I've finished knitting the cardigan for dgd who is 3 at the end of the month. I just have to sew it up and add buttons. I was in Glasgow today and went to my 2 favourite sewing/knitting stores looking for buttons. The only buttons I saw were 80p each and I just couldn't pay that so I will buy them online. I was very pleased with myself as I didn't buy anything else in the stores despite being tempted. Feeling good 😊
My next project will be a denim blue Aran waistcoat. You may remember me attempting to knit this last year and after several attempts I ripped it back and gave up in disgust. Well, I'm going to try again. I've checked my patterns and have one that might be nice. If it doesn't work this time I will just bin it as it nearly drove me to distraction before. So fingers crossed 🤞

@Millie2008_2
Welcome to the thread. I think some of us find it hard to fit crafting in between work, family, kids etc so you are not alone!
I do hope you are feeling better after being poorly and it certainly sounds like you have lots of creative outlets to keep you busy.
Would love to see some of your makes when you do them. x
@Betharooni
Welcome. It sounds like your making good progress on the jumper for your mum. I am hoping to learn to knit this year but I have a feeling it may be hats and scarves at a push for a bit until I get the knack of it.

Hello lovely. I admire your self discipline at not buying anything extra. I have a HC giftcard for Christmas and I feel like everything on the website is shouting at me so Im trying my best to make a list of things I need/will use etc and not get distracted by new crafts to try! I have made a card with my cricut last night as my first attempt but am yet to unpack the pyrography kit! Although Macrame sets really keep grabbing my attention!
I do remember your Aran waistcoat attempt from last year as well. Im sure it was about the time I had the hand loom meltdown and decided that it was a stupid pointless thing and packed it back in the box and gave up. I really must try again. Good luck with your waistcoat and cant wait to see pictures!
Heres two of my latest projects - first was where I started yesterday with the cross stitch for mother in law. I did some more last night but still have a way to go and two whole birds to do and the one Ive started to finish but I figure if I do an hour a day then I should make it in good time for her birthday and a robin themed present
Below is my first attempt at card making on my new Cricut Joy. Its only small but I just wanted to practice as Im still learning how to use it so decided to make a card for a friend of mine who is having a bit of a rubbish time at the minute so I hope it will do the job and cheer her up. Im thinking of trying to make her some positivity stickers too for her and her daughter to put around their home as a pick me up as well. :-) It all makes for good practice and hopefully Ill continue to improve with it.

@sammy_kaye18 love the card!! DD has a Joy and has made a few cards, I need to persist with cardstock and pressure, I find vinyl soooo much easier to cut!
Are you in the Facebook Cricut groups?5 -
Hi, a change in my knitting plans. I've just been reminded that daughter-in-law's brother and wife are due their first baby in 2 weeks. I totally forgot all about it so will now have to rush and make a gift. They do not know the baby's sex and don't like baby knitting but they do like the bootees I've knitted all my grandchildren. So my waistcoat will have to wait.
I've got some lovely mint green and grey dumbo fabric so I think I'll also sew a pram or carry cot quilt. I shouldn't have to buy anything. I'm hoping il have them all finished by the time baby arrives.
@sammy_kaye18 You're Robin cross stitch will be beautiful. I did a bit of cross stitch years ago. You need good eyesight for that. Even with my glasses I couldn't do it now 🥴
Today I ordered buttons online and including postage they only cost £2.93. I just hope they come in time for granddaughters birthday. I also ordered wide pink elastic to make her a fairy princess outfit. Just think ankle length tutu, sparkly top and wand 🤣🤣🤣

Hello!
I'd like to join again please!
No targets this year money or craft wise-I just want to get through all the wedding stuff without spending a fortune 😥 but also try and do some crafts in the evening to combat my anxiety!

I finished my hat yesterday. I am pleased with it. My first attempt at cables. Slow, as I have to refer to YouTube on how to do things (ssk, cast on in the round etc etc) . In the decrease after moving to dpns I managed to drop a stich several times. Managed to get them back with a crochet hook, but I need to get more proficient so I might try making some thick socks next.2025 craft items finished 11/12
