Happy new year everyone, I hope everyone is okay.
So seen as it's Jan thought id update. Debts in my name are 4755. These are my last two. They are both defaulted. A bit weird in that I'm not paying anything to them at the moment as the bank has been taken over and every payment I've made via the app didn't work and anything I sent via standing order was returned or didn't work either. Assuming they will contact me when the takeover is fully completed so concentrating on saving till then. Hopefully one day I will have enough to just say here you are then and pay it off. I'm still paying DH debts each month from the household pot but as he still spends on the card I don't know the total. At a guess debts in his name are 8.2-8.5k. Mainly interest free but some accruing interest so I don't know if they are going down or not really as he has access to the apps not me. Aim for 2025 is to get the whole total down and either have mine halved or be debt neutral for the equivalent amount in savings.
You have made amazing progress and should be so proud of yourself.
Well done for putting the money aside to pay towards the debts even though the money is not being taken. Make sure you are not charged any interest during the takeover time if you could not make any payments due to their error.
Is your partner on board with clearing the debt too? It would make it so much easier for you if he was really thoughtful about what he put on the credit cards in his name and helped to try and pay them off quicker with you?

I have absolute faith in you that you will at least half your own debt in this year. Good luck x
My last two were defaulted just over a year ago so no more charges or interest will be added. They will get paid eventually the computer systems just have to get transferred and catch up with me I guess. DH not interested in th finances at all really. Not in a team work sense which it should be in a marriage but hey ho.
Oh bless you Neverending - I'm sending hugs as I know how hard it is when you have an unsupportive partner when it comes to money. I am lucky as my OH now is very supportive with financial issues and our goals are both the same which makes it so much easier.

Keep doing what you are doing and you will achieve what you want x

It's me reporting in again as I have had a lovely surprise with a bank account I had totally forgotten about :)
They contacted me last week and it turns out I had £2108.00 in an account which I haven't touched since 2019 :) It has now been transferred into our high interest account and will be used towards our mortgage when the fixed rate expires next year :)

I have also had Etsy payday of £221.72 and earned another £10 from Prime Opinion :)

    My total now stands at £43953.50/ £81700 = 53.79%  <3

Fingers crossed I can keep up this momentum for the whole of the year (although I serious doubt it) ;)

Me again. Its one of my favourite days of the month - interest day on one of the savings accounts :) That has given a rather lovely £290.29 and I also have added £75 from rent increase and £10.29 cashout from WeR8 so in total a further £375.58 has been added to my OP savings account today :)

    My total now stands at £44329.08/ £81700 = 54.25%  3

I'm another whole percentage closer :)

Finally managed to add £302.38 into the OP savings account today thanks to my cafe wages.

This means my total now currently stands at £44956.13/ £81700 = 55.02%  <3

That's tipped me over another whole percent so progress is happening - just a bit slower than I would like :)
