I am owed money from my new cafe job too so hopefully if the tax man does not take too much of it I will be able to reach the 50% mark tomorrow

Morning all.
Got paid my wages from the cafe after chasing them as should have been received on Sunday (£63.25).
This means my total now stands at £40863.38/ £81700 = 50.01%

Happy new year everyone, I hope everyone is okay.
So seen as it's Jan thought id update. Debts in my name are 4755. These are my last two. They are both defaulted. A bit weird in that I'm not paying anything to them at the moment as the bank has been taken over and every payment I've made via the app didn't work and anything I sent via standing order was returned or didn't work either. Assuming they will contact me when the takeover is fully completed so concentrating on saving till then. Hopefully one day I will have enough to just say here you are then and pay it off. I'm still paying DH debts each month from the household pot but as he still spends on the card I don't know the total. At a guess debts in his name are 8.2-8.5k. Mainly interest free but some accruing interest so I don't know if they are going down or not really as he has access to the apps not me. Aim for 2025 is to get the whole total down and either have mine halved or be debt neutral for the equivalent amount in savings.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Well done for putting the money aside to pay towards the debts even though the money is not being taken. Make sure you are not charged any interest during the takeover time if you could not make any payments due to their error.
Is your partner on board with clearing the debt too? It would make it so much easier for you if he was really thoughtful about what he put on the credit cards in his name and helped to try and pay them off quicker with you?
I have absolute faith in you that you will at least half your own debt in this year. Good luck xMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Happy New Year everyone.
Here's hoping 2025 is good for all our finances and we can pay huge chunks towards our debts
I am off to a good start and can declare that I have added £750.40 into our OP account this year so far.
This is made up of:-
£ 10.00 mistplay reward voucher for Amazon
£ 10.00 nectar points spent on clothes airer
£ 10.00 prime opinion
£ 10.40 royal mail claim for lost item
£102.00 tips from new cafe
£608.00 subscription savings, monthly OP etc
This means my total now stands at £41613.78/ £81700 = 50.93%
Only £53.22 away from my next full percentageMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.021 -
