    Thanks Beanie.
We had a lovely time on the barge sailing around the docks. It was very informative and entertaining. The afternoon tea was ok…..everything was lovely and fresh but the cakes were all bought in…..not the best afternoon tea I’ve had but perfectly fine. The main event was the sail around. We managed a walk along the riverfront before we boarded but then the heavens opened ☔️☔️☔️ We didn’t think we’d manage a walk at all as it poured down as we were travelling there. Afterwards it poured again and we didn’t fancy walking around in the rain so headed home, watched a film and Dh has nipped out for a takeaway - wine is ready to go 😁 A lovely day 👍😀

Yesterday was a trip to C@stc@ and all sorts of things I didn’t even know I needed jumped into my trolly…..mainly from Dh hands. It’ll all get used though and things I’d have bought anyway. I spent about £60 in all once ds had paid me his contribution.  We split some things with ds. Pizza was eaten in their cafe…courtesy of ds. I had 1 slice….but they are big slices😉 twas very tasty. I don’t know how they do it……the biggest pizza I’ve ever seen along with the same sized garlic bread and a 1.5 litre of Pepsi for £13.99. 3 of us ate yesterday and have enough for 3 to eat today too. I’m passing on the pizza though and just having a jacket potato.
This morning was U3A but it turned  be only a cuppa as the person running it was still on holiday because her Dh was too poorly to travel home. I’d already agreed  to meet up with an old friend who turned up there last time. We went for lunch afterwards- her treat. I’d only been in half an hour when my bridesmaid messaged to see if I was in and turned up with a bottle of bubbly for our anniversary. So I’ve had a lovely day.
Just walked around to BnM for a hairdryer as mine gave up on Saturday morning. So £22 I hadn’t wanted to spend. That said I must have had my old one 20 years so it doesn’t owe me anything.
We tried a mattress out in C@stc@ which seems a good buy and was quite comfortable so I’ve been doing some research. It is a good buy so I think Dh will order it to be delivered. Our old one is 15 years old and definitely much softer than it was and don’t think it’s doing either of us much good.
No plans for tomorrow as I’m hanging fire to see if I need to accompany a relative to a hospital appointment……

Belated happy anniversary to you & Mr M - glad you had a lovely day!

Also well done on making the complaint to the restaurant - it sounds like their figures on the night in question would have backed up what you said as they were actively putting people off spending money!

I didn’t need to accompany said relative to hospital. They were supposed to let me know if I was needed by yesterday morning as it was an afternoon  apt. When i rang about  midday to see if I was needed or not…..they had no recollection of the lengthy conversation we’d had a couple of days previously. They would have told the friend who was able to go with them after all that NOBODY in the family bothers…I think the lack of memory is causing quite a few issues with some folk as she tells various other folk the version of remembered events rather than the actual ones.  Ah well….
I went to pick my prescription up  and since I was half way to my favourite lockdown walk I carried on and had a cuppa, picked up a book from the book swap and spent easily an hour reading by the duck pond. 😁
I called in Ald! on my way home and dh rang me. It was only half four and he should be in work until  6 pm. Anyway he had borrowed the works van, had come home early so we could nip to c@stco to get the mattress we’d spotted at weekend. After a bit of research we decided  it was a very good deal. We d seen it £100 more expensive online. Well that was fun 😂😂😂 trying to manoeuvre it into the van. There was absolutely no way I could do anything other than guide it. I couldn’t lift it or even push it. Anyway Dh must have had his weetabix for breakfast as he managed to get the new one in and upstairs and the old one out and to the tip 💪and all  before it shut at 8 pm.
I’ve been to U3A this morning and led a crochet group. It was a challenge to say the least but I enjoyed it….I presume others did too as they requested it  next time 😳 so that’s me sorted for next month 😂👍 From there I went to aqua aerobics and am just going to have a quick tidy up and collapse in a heap as I’m shattered even though I actually slept really well on the new mattress 😀
oh and I phoned the GP for the blood result the hospital requested. As I hoped it was a bit of a glitch…..it was at the low end but still just within normal levels so requires no action other than monitoring. I’d only been off the phone half an hour when the bowel screening service rang to tell me what I expected. Nothing cancerous showed up but a condition I already knew about did show up and continue treating is as I’m already doing. So I can put it all behind me and get on with life 😀👍👍👍👍

Great news on the results. Sounds  like you have been very busy . Hopefully the new mattress will help with your sleep.
