Doh 😵‍💫 I forgot to soak my chickpeas overnight 😡😡😡 So I’m soaking them this morning and I’ll give them an extra long boil to remove any toxins then actually put it on when I get home from aqua at about 2 pm…..and leave it in the oven until bedtime. The chicken will only take an hour or so whilst the oven is on. The lamb is a long slow cook but it’s delicious- pity the leg of lamb won’t fit in the slow cooker 😏
Whilst the food is cooking I’m hoping to get in the garden as the gks will want a train on but the plants are encroaching the track. Tea will be whatever is cooked first 😁

All the cooking went well. My freezer is full.
I’ve had a couple of lazy days doing crochet…..I have several projects on thr go but got the urge to make some granny squares as the U3A craft group have requested I teach them how to do them 😵‍💫 I haven’t made random coloured squares for a few years……they’re addictive 😂😂
I have an exciting week next week. I’m meeting some work friends on Monday then ds is collecting his new car on Tuesday so he’s coming around and taking me for a spin before we pick Dd and gks from the train station…..so a fun filled busy week. I’m expecting some spendy days.

Today was earmarked for cleaning as dh has gone to help a friend with some jobs she needs doing. I nearly forgot I’ve got an appointment in town to try and sort a squeaky hearing aid out. I think it’s a lot to do with me sweating and moisture getting i but no idea what they can do to stop it 😳 So cleaning has been rudely interrupted 😡…..I was on a mission .

@milann - I am a very confident knitter, but can only do really basic crochet. Like you, I'm enjoying making random coloured granny squares atm for 2 new cat blankets, but first I had to go online & remind myself how to start one off! I was trying to do it how I remembered, with crocheting a little chain, joining it into a ring, then starting on the trebles. I just couldn't get it right, but once I'd seen a close-up photo I could see the construction. It's a great way of using up odds & sods of leftover yarn. I bundled all the DK oddments from my stash into a project bag, allocated a border colour to each blanket & am just using up scraps, choosing colours as I go along. It is always good to see a new item appearing from shopped from home materials which has not involved any naughty little trippettes to yarn shops!
Enjoy teaching the U3A folk the noble art of the granny square.

Alas I didn’t get my hearing aid sorted. Totally my own fault. I had it in my head it was 11.30 or 11.45 I checked on my calendar at 11 so I could be there in plenty of time and it was 10.45 😵‍💫😳 I dashed into town and was too late so had to re book. I’m getting absolutely terrible with dates and times of appointments. I’ve booked next Sunday as I have Dd and gks here all week.
I had a good clean downstairs and then Dh arrived home with the friend he’d been helping out so I did us some dinner and then nipped to the laundrette with some old quilts for a service wash. I put them under the sheet on the gks z-beds to make them more comfortable for them. I’ve been threatening getting them washed for a good while. I’ll pick the up tomorrow.
Then the sun came out and we’ve been sitting in the garden…..Dh brought me a Bacardi and coke out. Knew he was a keeper 😂😂😉 so we’ve been watching the train in the sunshine. I should have been sorting upstairs but that can wait until tomorrow. It’s not actually that bad. I just want to make up all the spare beds and tickle around our room but I’m out with some friends from a couple of jobs ago for lunch then another friend is coming around to collect some things and I need to do the shopping before the onslaught on Tuesday.

Hope you're all organised for the arrivals milann. That thing with the appointment is the sort of thing I'd do too!
