I don’t know where they get the prices from. Sounds delicious.
We’re  off to see ds who is making a cheese and onion pie….we’re doing a blind test of baked beans as Costco have stopped doing my prefer make. Could be interesting 😂😂 We’ve got 4 makes to try and we’ll share the uncooked ones out between to to bring home. Beans on toast will feature heavily over the next couple of days 😂😂

Ds cheese and onion pie and the blind tasting baked bean experiment made for a great meal. We tried 5 brands of baked beans and the 3 of us all chose 2 brands which we preferred. One was my more expensive brand that make pickles that go with cheese - my go to choice. The other - which was hard to distinguish between the two - was a supermarket own brand. One worked out at lesss than 50p a can and the other 75p a can when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. No brainier……next time I’m in @sd@ I’m stocking up on baked beans 👍 Interestingly they also came top of the survey that got us onto our own experiment.
I have been doing some serious thinking about SlimmingWorld as I’ve just come to the end of another 12 week countdown. I have no holidays left so will have to pay for missing weeks. I’ll end up missing  this week as we’ve decided to go away in Millie Motorhome for the weekend to a town where my local river meets  the sea. We have tried to get onto his particular site on the riverfront, but to no avail, however Dh was just cruising through the site app and saw a vacancy for Thursday and Friday night. Anyway I digress - I’ve lost 1 lb since I started the 12 week countdown and although I enjoy the group I’ve decided it just not worth the money for me so I’m just going to do my own thing.
I’ve been looking at upf  am really trying to keep them to a minimum less than 80% of my diet as it makes perfect sense to eat more homemade foods….the emulsifiers etc can’t do any good. I’m playing with the idea of going to a U3A group in my SW time slot instead.
I’ve just come back from a great U3a singing for fun session….we joined up with the ukulele band and it was utter chaos as we practiced for the first time together for a Christmas Panto…..watch this space. Don’t think Hollywood will be knocking on our doors anytime soon.
Im going to continue painting the railway buildings as it too hot to do much in the garden. Why can’t we have something in between the freezing cold rain of the past few weeks and tropical heat…..I can’t cope with it. I’ll have a quick Hoover around too as I’m uncharacteristically on top of things.

The singing session did sound fun!
Re the Elizabeth Line you mentioned a few posts back, if you're coming in from the east at the end of that line it'll take you roughly three-quarters of an hour to get into East London but it does go straight on to the West End which will take another ten to fifteen minutes.

    Thanks Seasidegal.
Beanie I’m very unsure still about packing SW in as I know quite a few of the people there. I think maybe I’ve just become too comfortable there and class it as a social event…..but I just can’t get my head into gear it’s like I’m on a see-saw.  I want to get away from low fat food with all the ‘extras’ to make them taste real. I’m just going for less of the real food most of the time. I’m already pretty good with meals but I’ll bake a real cake and freeze it in small portions rather than leave it out to eat half a cake 😂😂😂 I’m not prepared to pay for weeks I’m not there. I’d rather put the £5 a week on one side to do something nice as a treat when we’re out in Millie. I’m pretty sure it’s the right decision for me atm.
I’ve booked a gentle exercise class tomorrow which I believe is aimed at people who are recovering from injury. Apparently the instructor is from a ballet background and it’s based on gentle stretching and movement. Think the class is called body maintenance. So I’m going to listen to the tapes I paid for earlier this year…..which have focussed my mind toward what and when I’m eating and continue with the aqua, swimming, tai chi and keep walking - plus I’ll see what this new class is like. I do think the tapes I paid for have helped me focus and give me a positive slant on food and my eating habits. I definitely eat less after I’ve listened to one. I might as well use the resources I have at hand that I’ve paid for and stop paying for those that aren’t working for me.
£2 spent from my occasional cash at U3A this morning.

DH’s birthday plans sound brilliant. He must enjoy his job if he’s still there at 70. A bloke I worked with only retired last year at 71. Good decision on SW if it’s not right for you at the moment. You could always rejoin another time. I know of people who calorie count using an app and just go to SW for the discipline of weigh in and the social aspect.
