I went to bed at 7 last night, listened to a tape ……slept through the night which is a first for a long time and didn’t wake until 8 this morning. I’m not sure what time I actually nodded off but it was before Dh came up.
I have been reading some more about the conditions the camera showed up yesterday and re-read the report properly. I think I was so relieved it was nothing too sinister I hadn’t fully taken on board what did show up. Anyway somebody from the screening place is due to phone over the next couple of days and there are a couple of questions I’m going to ask. I don’t suppose there’s an easy answer as it’s all linked to previous surgery. It could account for the low levels in the blood test I had taken a week or so ago though. In a bid to look after my digestion more than I do……and I know I should look after it…..I’ve been a slave 😂😂😂😂to the kitchen today. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself 👍. I made a full brunch this morning- healthy style with lots of grilled tomato and mushrooms, poached egg, bacon and the last of the delicious left over cheesy potatoes from Wednesday. For tea did chicken thighs cooked slowly with lots of veg… onion, mushroom, tomato, pepper, lots of courgette, aubergine, broccoli with garlic, turmeric and paprika on mine and jerk seasoning on Dh. I did potato wedges with turmeric, garlic and paprika. It was delicious and there’s lots left for another day. Whilst the oven was on I baked a Bakewell Tart. I sat down as much as I could so as not to aggravate my ankle 😏it didn’t workIn between we went for a short walk to a local pond which is the relic grounds of an old stately home. The house is long gone but the gardens are now a little park. There were lots of trees that looked perfectly healthy, by the pond, with red ribbons tied very high up. apparently they’re destined to be chopped down and the locals are not happy. Not sure what the outcome will be. We went to the garden centre virtually next door to claim the July’s free drink from my loyalty card. We shared a flapjack and very nice it was too. I’m shattered now though and it’ll be another early night.

I’ve given up trying to get to sleep and come downstairs for a cuppa. I want whatever they gave me yesterday again as it was the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. My hip and ankle are sore and having a bit of tummy trouble, I just can’t get comfortable - can’t even blame Dh as he’s sound asleep and not snoring. I’ll take some paracetamol and listen to a relaxing tape then go and try again 😵💫January spends - £587.580

I got about 2 hours sleep on Saturday night. A lot better last night .
Yesterday Ds came around and we went out for a ride across the nearby hills. We visited a NT site and had a short walk. From there we went to a shopping mall and had a mooch around. Not a penny was spent by me 😁 We had some Mr T vouchers for zeezee Italian restaurant. I used to love it in there. However last night was totally ruined by the worse service I’ve ever come across. The disabled loo wasn’t accessible as the door wouldn’t open, luckily there were public ones nearby. The cutlery was dumped in the middle of the table by the waitress as she showed us our table. Then once we’d ordered my food came in an acceptable time. I waited for a while for the rest of the food to come…..and waited ……and waited. I did eventually start eating and it was very tasty. By then dhs food arrived but still no sign of food for ds. By the time it eventually came best part of half an hour later 😳 I’d virtually finished mine and it was nearly cold. We complained but the waitress just muttered sorry - Kevin and Perry style. It wasn’t busy - about 30 in a big restaurant - but 3 staff sat in the corner eating pizza…..including our waitress. Our plates were all finished with. Nobody came to clear the table or take dessert orders. There were a couple of young lads sat nearby - one of them sat with his arm up to attract attention - nobody came. A different couple had 1 starter served and like us waited…..in the end they got up and walked out. Another man got up and went to the sideboard to get his own cutlery. We were going to have desserts and coffee. Then a young girl must have started a shift and was trying to do everything by herself. We ended up having to go to the bar to ask for our bill and the barman sent the young girl over. We gave her the Tesco vouchers and ds credit card…it worked out half and half for what we’d had….but she didn’t know what to do with them……not her fault as she looked as if she’d only just started the job. Meanwhile the 3 staff carried on eating and laughing in the corner. Where was the manager ?…….apparently not there according to barman. I’ve worked in enough shops and restaurants over the years to know to send staff on staggered breaks and get food for a table out together. Anyway they lost out on the sale of our desserts and coffees. We came home instead. The restaurant and head office will be getting a letter of complaint. Boy that was a whinge 😏 If that’s my biggest worry life must be good. But the service was dire and it ruined a lovely day out.
The nurse from the screening phoned yesterday and I asked her my questions- she didn’t know all the answers as they’re dependent on the biopsy reports. She did remind me I couldn’t fly for 2 weeks….it did say in the paperwork they’d given me…..good job I wasn’t planning to.She also made a big point of not lifting anything heavy for 2 weeks. I’d just got in the pool and I suddenly realised I probably shouldn’t have gone to aqua aerobics this morning. I took it VERY easy and doesn’t seem to have done me any harm 😏 It seems a little over the top but I suppose because it’s all happened inside and there is no outward signs of what they’d done it’s easy to forget. Just need my insides to start working again - they’re being quite lazy 😏
Time for a quick tidy up and go to get my hearing aids looked at form the same place I got my glasses last week.January spends - £587.583 -
Just been into town to get my hearing aids sorted. As I suspected I needed a new one and they re tuned the other, I think when I sweat it has damaged the connections. She was quite accusing in her questioning…think she thought I’d been dunking it in water 🤷🏻♀️😡 At least I didn’t have to pay as they’re NHS 😁
I treated myself to a cuppa before I came home. £2.
I take cash out every month for things I pay cash for……window cleaner, hairdresser and U3A etc. Any surplus is saved in a purse for treats. I tend not to touch this until the lead up to Christmas. It seemed a good idea whilst the interest rates were low but I’d accumulated £150 in my purse so I put that in my Bonus savings account today which pays 4% as long as you don’t withdraw more than 3 times a year. So that’s the new plan. put the surplus in each month and withdraw Novemberish OR when I want to use it on a special treat 👍January spends - £587.583 -
What appalling customer service in the pizza restaurant. I hope management address this issue as it’s not good enough.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
