At least I’m hoping I don’t need to take it twice like your good self foxgloves. I wouldn’t have been impressed buuuutttt I suppose they can’t help equipment breaking….presumably they keep everything serviced and tip top.
Nothing to do with being awesome Beanie…..I've just learned I need to accept life’s little challenges 😂 I’ll be pleased when the results are in though 👍January spends - £587.582 -
Today unravelled quite nicely with a trip to the M&S food shop with ds. I spent £17 which I thought was quite restrained of me…..could have been soooo much more - especially since I had Dh in tow 😳
I’d gone for some stir fry veg as I was making teriyaki salmon. They had a Chinese offer with veg, meat, carb and sauce so I decided to go for that and have froze the meat and sauce element for another time. I also bought an extra veg which was reduced 😁 The recipe I have is supposed to have chilli in but I don’t usually bother as I don’t like chilli and to my mind Japanese food doesn’t have it. Anyway there was a stand where you could buy a single chilli so I decided to get one for dh’s piece of salmon. It worked out at 11p which was better than buying a pack and ending up throwing half away. Dh was happy, although it was a rather hot one as he was steaming from the ears as he ate it 😂😂 I had the teriyaki salmon and veg with no rice or noodles 😇 I WILL loose weight again this week 👍 Do M&S do a savings scheme…I’ve decided I want to get some money to spend there for Christmas. Maybe I’ll buy a few gift vouchers for myself.
The rest of the day was spent catching up on a bit of tv. We’ve been watching World on Fire. I saw some of the first series but Dh hadn’t seen any so we’ve been watching it all week.
I still haven’t done the banking I wanted to do or paid my cc off this month. There’s always tomorrow 👍January spends - £587.580 -

I’ve just transferred my emergency fund from an everyday savings account with 1.5% interest to a bonus savings account which allows 3 withdrawals a year at 4.1% interest and I did it myself ONLINE….this was way beyond my comfort zone but I did it and all looks ok.😁
Now I need to send my glasses receipt off to get some cash from HSA. I’ve paid my cc this morning and am still in shock at my July spends 😳 it does include £185 for my glasses and I filled Millie with petrol and a few other things when Dh lost his cc card earlier this month. 😳😳😳January spends - £587.581 -

So the last 3 months I’ve spent over what I’d budgetted. Need to put a stop to that as I’m using my buffer zone and it’s depleting a a faster rate than I’m happy with. I’m getting back into bad habits 😵💫😳😏January spends - £587.580

Just catching up with your posts.
We find we spend more in the summer while we are out and about but rein it in over the winter months.
Perhaps you are the same?
I'm sure you will have the spends back under control soon.
Just had to fill Milo up with fuel this morning which came to £100. Don't think that's too bad considering it includes our Norfolk and Suffolk break as well. It's definitely given us plenty of smiles per gallon.1 -
I'd assume that summer spends are likely to be far higher than winter ones as well - although I guess to a degree whether that can be the case depends on your budget. I set aside money from my personal budget through the winter months to sub stuff that happens in the summer though and that works fairly well for me.
It's certainly cheaper to fill a vehicle up with diesel now than it was a few months ago isn't it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
