We have a south facing garden which is lovely, but the front of our house can be like walking into a fridge. Was lovely last year during the heatwave but this time of the year you need to put another jumper on at times.x

The dress and cardigan sound lovely. It’s freezing in most areas of our house, but seemed much warmer outside.

Every room in our house has a south facing window. We have no escape from the heat in the summer.

Love the free heat in the winter though.

A restful couple of here. Dh washed the outside of Millie and I did the inside but it didn’t need much doing. We won’t be seeing ds this weekend as he has come down with the lurgy. He sounded really rough yesterday.
I finished the book I bought a few weeks ago. It’s the first book I’ve read since I was in hospital. I couldn’t concentrate or get into the storylines. I used to read a lot so not sure what got into me. I want the next book now.
I’m popping to a friends later to witness the signature of some paperwork. Other than that not a lot is happening here.
I was grilling some cheesy toast with beans for breakfast and the grill was glowing very bright. It didn’t look good - sparking and smoking so Dh is trawling t’internet looking for a new element. It’s not long since the elements in the oven went. 😳
It’s the first year I haven’t planted any seeds since I don’t know when. That’s the downside of Millie Motorhome. I haven’t been here a lot of the time to tend them. I might go into the garden to empty and clean my pots which next doors cat has taken to using as a loo 💩😡😡😡😡😡 When I come back from Cornwall I’ll refill with compost and see what I can plant straight outside.
I plan a swim tomorrow morning - I’m really wasting my membership to the gym. I probably won’t renew it and I’m contemplating getting rid of my car. I don’t use it often. The insurance is due £220 which is £10 cheaper than last year. The tax is only £20 a year. I keep thinking maybe it’s worth it for the convenience of having it when I do want to use it. I don’t like driving though and keep to my snail trail routes…..decisions, decisions 🤷🏻‍♀️

We are lucky that the neighbours will look after our garden while we are away in the van. We don't have anything that takes much looking after though. We keep it simple.

We don't regret getting rid of my car when we got the van, but there have been a few times it would have come in handy. I don't think for us though it was worth the expense of keeping another car on the road.

Today’s plan is give the bathroom a ‘good bottom’ I’ve wiped some of the grout and am leaving it soaking. I’ll wipe it down later. The same goes for the bath 👍
I’m going to put some washing away and go to tai chi 👍 I was surprised I got a space when I looked last night. It’s usually fully booked. I’ll finish the bathroom when I get back.
I had a phone call saying thousands of pounds have has been used from my bank account somewhere abroad. A recorded message of course. I put the phone down as I suspect the next question would be asking for my bank details 😡😡😡 I bet a lot of people fall for it though 😡😡😡
I used my swede from my sw raffle a couple of weeks ago yesterday. I’d cooked stewing steak in the slow cooker and had mash, broccoli and carrots with the swede. I don’t usually buy swede as it’s so hard to chop and Dh isn’t too keen unless it’s in a Cornish Pastie 😏 BUT I finally got around to trying the singing swede. I put it whole into the microwave for 15 minutes then the skin just peeled off and I mixed it in with my carrots. They call it singing as it squeaks as if it’s singing. Got to admit I’ve heard more vocal jacket potatoes though. Dh asked for 2nds👍

I’ve just been to tai chi. It’s very relaxing. My balance is rubbish though and the leg I lost use of a few years back had a bad tremor today. I nearly came out half way through. I think I might try and do the videos the gym puts on line to build the strength up…..it’s the standing still that gets it.  I’m hopeless at keeping up with these things though. Saying that I’ve kept up with the relaxation tapes most days, so I’ll give it a try.
I was going to nip into town for a meander but my car is making a strange noise. We had some work on the fan belt a while back so I think it’s related to that…😂😂😂i sound as if I know what I’m talking about…..it could be anything 😉

Waiting for the element for the grill being delivered today. We paid for express delivery and today’s the day it should be arriving but it isn’t tracking with RM yet…..hope I’m not having a wasted day.
The sun is shining but it’s still chilly indoors.
I’ve  given myself a challenge……I still have some lovely linen trousers from N@xt that I wore all the time before surgery. I can’t wear them anymore as the waistband is exactly where it shouldn’t be for me now. A friend who does dressmaking suggested buying some maternity bands, cutting the waistband off and attaching them to the trousers. I bought the bands a while back and not done anything about it. I’m so fed up of wearing the same black leggings from M@rrisons everyday come rain, shine, sunshine or snow but with the addition of a summer or winter top. I’ve cut the waistband off and am pinning the band in place - not sure what they’ll be like but I can’t wear them anyway so nothing lost if I mess it up. My friend did offer to do it for me but I wanted to try myself.
As I’ve been typing I’ve had a message saying my friend has passed away during the night. It’s a relief but still very sad and I’m off to make a cuppa. I won’t tell Dh (who was his close friend before I met his family many moons ago) until he comes home from work. There’s no point having him upset whilst he’s working. I’m not sure when the funeral is but I’m hoping we’ll be home from Cornwall. I can’t see it being next week as I believe there’s big backlogs. If it is we will come home.
