Milann’s quest for a new me in 23

I did indeed have a lovely time.We were going to make an early start last Sunday but the weather was unexpectedly lovely on Saturday so we threw everything in Millie and headed off. We stayed on a carvery pubs carpark over half way through the journey. We had a lovely carvery tea and breakfast the following day and headed off afterwards. We arrived at our destination, parked up and walked to the local beach. We enjoyed exploring the area as we’d never been there before. I stayed in the van some of the time though, as I found I was very tired more quickly than usual and let Dh go off whilst I read my book looking at the sea. We did a combination of eating out (cheap and cheerful dinner time deals 😉) and some eating in the van. There was a club on the site but we didn’t venture there….I was in bed at 9pm every night….I sure know how to party 😳 The weather was very mixed but we dodged some heavy showers…except yesterday when the rain was torrential. We’d half played with the idea of staying somewhere tonight but we’ve driven through all sorts of weather today…..biblical style torrential rain, hale stone, sunshine, lightning and we saw a couple of rainbows. Nothing better could be added to the break so we came home instead.January spends - £587.585

That’s exactly how the weather has been here today too - 4 seasons in one day. Glad you enjoyed your trip 😀I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Need to do some number crunching over the next couple of days. I didn’t spend too much money whilst away. Dh paid for a couple of meals out but it was definitely cheap and cheerful. Other than that we didn’t spend much at all. Oh Dh did treat me to a rather nice top from my favourite salt of the sea shop. 😁We went to see ds yesterday and he made us a lovely curryfest…..a mild one for me and a couple of spicy ones for himself and Dh.Not much else to report. I’d booked a tai chi class but have cancelled as my ankle is playing up and balancing on 1 leg doesn’t appeal to me atm. I’m going into the big city to watch My Fair Lady later in the week with a friend, so I want to rest after my week away. Tickets for the show were bought a while ago. 😁January spends - £587.582

Not a lot has been happening here.I’ve had a horrible taste in my mouth from the antibiotics, thankfully I’m getting toward the end of the 2 week course now. They have improved the symptoms though so I’ll keep swilling mouthwash which improves the taste. Hopefully I’ll be able to enjoy my afternoon tea tomorrow.
The weatherman says it should be getting warmer but it’s blooming freezing here. I’m sitting under a blanket.I did venture out on Monday, my first outing to the back garden to do a post winter tidy. I do love pottering in the garden but I have to admit I’m a fair weather gardener. Im gutted as the local cats have used my pots as their personal loos. And the birds, slugs or other wildlife eaten the tender stem broccoli and my one cauliflower whilst we were away last week…..they were fine before we went away last week. My rhubarb has died (all my bits of fruit and veg are in pots), probably as a result of the 💩 , it could have been the frost as it was doing ok. I’m going to get rid of all the compost and will buy new and then cover any seeds I plant with a small net to keep the cats off in future. I thought I’d done well by putting curry powder in the front garden but the have just changed location without me realising 😡.
I don’t know if it’s a good omen but my rings are getting much looser than they were a month or so ago. I’m really missing my scales which went to the scale graveyard after 30 years good service. I only weighed myself after holibobs and big meals out to see what the damage was. I am really looking forward to going out with my friend tomorrow to see My Fair Lady and for afternoon tea…..but I don’t want to scupper my good work and end up losing the 1/2 stone I lost before we went away. It’s only 1 day which has been planned months so I suppose I should just go with it and see what the scales say on Friday. Life still has to happen even if I’m trying to loose weight.January spends - £587.581 -
I love it when my rings loosen. That’s normally the first sign of weight loss for me, but not this time…possibly because I let it get too far 😅 Hopefully they’ll catch up on the final stone.
It’s freezing here too. Do you have plans to replace your scales? We have some fancy ones that tell me I’m dehydrated every day and oddly send my fat up and my muscle down on alternate days just for kicks 🙄Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Your scales sound very fancy WinterWarrior. What make are they? I was going out to get some today but haven’t moved from the house. I’ve spotted some in Arg@s which are £15 and track 2 people’s weight….I haven’t looked much further.
I really need to get my behind in gear….I loved my week away but it’s wiped me out and I’ve done the bare minimum since I got home. I’m wondering if the antibiotics are making me tired or maybe the condition I’m taking them for is…..I’m saving myself for tomorrow for my day out.January spends - £587.580 -
They are Withings. MrWW did the research and decided they were the top drawer scales 😅 I was happy with anything that reminds me to lay off the biscuits, but I have to say I’m very impressed with them.
Having a holiday to get over a holiday isn’t a bad thing. Rest up so you can really enjoy tomorrow 🌟Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Well what an afternoon. I haven’t got time to go into details now but I can honestly sayI’ve never seen a show quite like it…..will fill you in tomorrow. There were glitches to say the least at the My Fair Lady show but the cast were so professional even though all didn’t go to plan 😳 had a good time despite it all. Not impressed with avg (or whatever the initials are though)…….
