Not a lot happening here today. I had a quick sort out of the fridge and emptied and cleaned the bins ready to go away.
We’d planned a stop half way in a pub somewhere en route to our trip but the forecast isn’t inspiring at all so I think we’ll have the van ready for an early get away on Sunday where we book into the campsite after 1. Weather is looking a tad wet all week whilst we’re there. Can’t complain though as we’ve not had any wet coats to deal with on any of our trips yet. I was going to clean the van out but it hasn’t stopped raining and I didn’t want to get wet going in and out of the van. I’ll do it on Saturday.I did get some lovely flowers from my dd for Mother’s Day…..they couldn’t guarantee delivery on Sunday. I’m glad they came early as I won’t be here on Sunday ( she must have forgotten) At least I enjoy them for a few days before I go.Oh and I paid my road tax….I don’t mind paying the £20 and I paid my cc off. Neither are due until the end of the month but I don’t have to think about it now.January spends - £587.582 -
Laughing to myself at the thought of you being pursued by security trying to get their trolley back 😀 I've thought of doing this myself but I'm half an hours walk away 😊
I hope you have a lovely trip and the weather cheers up for youOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -

I weighed in this morning and lost 1/2 lb. I’ll take that as I’ve eaten out a lot this week. This meant I got my half stone award. I’m hoping not to have put much on after our little break away. I’m full of good intentions but just cave in when out and about and chips or cake is calling my name. I need to visualise a mound of sugar and fat and flour and remember that’s what goes into them.
That said I’ve had a lovely afternoon with ds and Dh. Ds took us to a new pub a few miles away for my Mother’s Day treat….even if I’m at home I don’t like going for a meal on the actual Sunday as it’s always mad. We’ve tried to get into this pub several times before but it’s always fully booked, it’s only been open about 18 months. We had a lovely 3 course meal….prawn cocktail, chicken on a bed of spinach and a lovely garlic sauce (I did only eat a bit of the sauce)and new potatoes followed by ice cream. It was half the price of what it would be on Sunday and although busy it wasn’t manic. Rain had been forecast but it was a lovely sunny afternoon. We had a short walk afterwards.
I went to a talk last night by an author who used to be a barrister in 1960/70s London. He was a very good story teller and had us both laughing and horrified by some of the stories he told us. I bought his 1st book…..there are several others so if I enjoy this I might get the rest. I’ve been right off reading for a while now for some reason I haven’t been able to concentrate. If his writing is as good as his verbalising it bodes well. Cash was from my incidental pot. I didn’t sleep well at all last night. Think it’s because I was out of my early night routine…or maybe because I had full caffeine coffee at 9 pm 😱I can’t cope with being out until 10 pm any more 🤪Tomorrow I’ll fill the van. Everything is ready and we plan a very early start on Sunday and go straight to the site rather than stopping in a pub half way overnight. You watch it will be beautiful even though they have forecast rain.January spends - £587.581 -
