Not much been happening here the last few days. I’ve cashed in some MrT vouchers for restaurant vouchers, had a bit of a tidy up and we’ve been looking at sites for our Scottish trip….got to admit I’m getting quite excited by this.
Foodwise I’ve been surprisingly good. Not felt the need to do my usual snacking….long may it last 😁👍
We nipped into town yesterday and tried to return the kettle to Dunelm……Dh couldn’t find the receipt anywhere. Don’t waste any money folks, buying a Dunelm own make kettle it’s the 2 nd I’ve bought since we had the kitchen done just over 2 years ago and the switch went on both of them 😡😡 We showed the bank statement but Dunelm wouldn’t do anything without an official receipt. We bought a Morhy R one from @rgos - we’d should have bought this in the 1 st place. I could have bought a cheaper one but wanted a deep red one to match everything else. Dh paid for it.
😂😂the lady who introduced me to WI messaged me and asked if I’d paid a deposit for 15 May…..I said I knew nothing about it. She messaged me back and said she’d put it in for me…..😂😂😂So I e paid a deposit for something and no idea what it’s for. Hopefully it’ll be a nice surprise 😂😂😂
I need to do some number crunching as I’ve totally lost track of my spending and because I’ve not tracked it I suspect I’ve gone a bit over the top 😏

I’ve had my kettle forever and it’s a Russell Hobbs. I keep hoping it will break down so I can get a new one as it doesn’t look great but no it keeps on going 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I'm on my third Tesco cheapo, which is not bad in almost 30 years.  But this one cost me over £10.  I am usually a fan of buy it cheap buy it twice, but with the first one it was all I could afford at the time & it did so well I did a repeat.

We only stayed on one campsite in the 16 night trip we did around Scotland.

It was so easy up there to find places to park overnight.

Lots of places to deal with the tanks as well. There were public facilities, a lot of the campsites had service facilities for a small fee and one place we used was a private residence that had set up a facility for motorhomes.

The one campsite we did use was at Ullapool and you just turned up at that one. You couldn't book. Fantastic location right on the lochside. Cheap from memory as well.

Hope you have better weather than we did 🤣🤣🤣

RS Dh has already booked some sites RS. Edinburgh, Fort William and on Skye. On our way back down we want somewhere near Dundee as I have a couple of friends in that general area I’d like to say hi to. Thanks for the tip about Ullapool. It’s keeping ds amused trying to sort his route 😂😂 What time of year did you go….we’re going mid June.

We went last week of September first week of October.

    It was lovely and quiet.
  • If you are going as far as Thurso (up the nc500 route from Ullapool) there’s a lovely sea view camp site with a fantastic burger restaurant called the Blue Door. They have a fb page.
Let me know how the WI goes. I’ve always fancied it, but the ones around here seem to operate in office hours!

  • Loving that you've "paid a deposit for 15th May" but have no idea what it will be that you're doing - that's hilarious!

I’ve had a nice couple of days meeting friends I haven’t seen for a long time. Shattered now though. I went to JLewis and M&S with a friend this morning as she needed something. A rather lovely top fell into my basket in JL…..actually I bought 2 but 1 didn’t hang right so I took it back this afternoon. I feel totally at ease with this friend as he mum has had the same surgery as me. It was lovely looking at clothes  with somebody who got my concerns about clothes 😉
After my friend went home I actually went for a swim….the first time in a long time. Last time I went I struggled getting out up the ladder steps…..it was so much better since I’ve had the steroid injections in my ankle and hip 😃 Need to get back in the habit of going again.
I’m contemplating going to a different SW tomorrow morning as we might try and find somewhere in the town of the fat rascal as there is some sort of light show on The Minster. Not sure if we’ll find anywhere nearby as it’s half term. If not we’ll probably just go for the day on Thursday. I’m hoping for a loss at SW as I’ve had a good week 😃 Something has clicked 😁
