Thanks for the link EH we’ve booked the Caravan club site already in Edinburgh and will travel up to Sky stopping at various places to be decided en repute. I’d like to stay at a BnB opened by a lady I used to work with in Sky for a couple of nights provided there are places to be had there. Then we will head back down staying at various places. We need to research a bit more 👍January spends - £587.581

Broadford is a small seafront car park opposite the chip shop. Beautiful views to wake up too.
And Staffin Harbour is a small harbour with a car park. Again beautiful views. A bit of a windy track to get down there but so worth it when you get there.
Thoroughly recommend both stops. We had very peaceful nights at both. Watching the eagles at Staffin was one of the highlights of the trip.
Sky Camping provide a service stop for motorhomes as well. It was £5 to empty the grey waste, empty two toilet cassettes and refill the water. We could have showered for that in their facilities block as well but we had already showered on the van.2 -

Skye is gorgeous! I haven't been there since just before the pandemic but there was a rather nice cafe in Broadford that served delicious wood burn pizzas! I think it was called Cafe Sea or Sia. Hopefully it's still going!👍Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Another vote here for Skye being gorgeous! We stayed at a B&B in Broadford by accident a few years ago (ferry was cancelled!) and it's a lovely little place!
When we drive up we always ignore the satnav trying to take us onto the M8 and use the M80/A84/A85 instead - a far nicer drive in our opinion! (And probably the way you would be directed from Edinburgh in any case)
The Green Welly stop has nice toilets and the cafe looked lovely when we stopped there last - a nice little shop to have a browse round too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks for the Skye tips everyone. I had hoped to stay a night at a bnb run by a lady I used to work with but it’s a minimum of 2 nights stay and would cost considerably more than I expected so we could well just stay in Millie. I am totally out of touch with such things having used caravans and the occasional Travel lodge for the last umpteen years 😂😂
I’m not impressed as my kettle has just broke. It’s the 2nd one I’ve had since we did the kitchen just over 2 years ago. A Dunelm own make….we can’t find the receipt either 😏We have it on the bank statement but it doesn’t say what the item was just £30 so I doubt they’ll accept that 😡January spends - £587.580 -
Not sure how but I lost 1/2lb this morning. Considering I was away all last weekend and had fish and chips with dd and gks on Monday I’ll take that with bells on. Plus I’ve not done any kind of exercise for a couple of days after the steroid injection. It’s been a slow job but I’ve had ds birthday celebrations and been away so I’ll happily take 4 lb since New Year. I’m socialising 3 times this week - at a friends house I worked with several years ago and I know she’ll do lots of baking - I’ll have some but watch what I’m doing, a friend is coming here so that’s easy I’ll do something SW friendly and I’m out for a roast turkey dinner at relative’s house using a post Christmas turkey bargain, I’ll stick with 1 roastie and lots of veg. Look at me planning ahead….who knew I could ever do such a thing 😂😂😂I think I’m gradually getting the right mindset and getting the balance right at long last 👍
Last night I joined the WI. I’m wasn’t sure if it was my thing or not but everyone seemed friendly - no good feeling fed up and bored with myself- I need to make an effort 😉😃January spends - £587.582 -
Well done on the 1/2lb and joining the WI 👏 You might as well see what it’s all about nothing to lose. One of my retired friends is a WI member and enjoys it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
