Glad your tummy is better today.
Milo has her hab check tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a clean bill of health as we are off out for the weekend to one of our favourite pub stops.
I like to set off with a clean van as well. Not that it usually stays clean for long. Sometimes it's filthy before we have even got where we are going 🤣🤣🤣
The other half thinks I'm daft wanting to give the house a good clean before we go away bit I like to come home to a nice clean house.1 -
We decided against going away this weekend. Nowhere is particularly dirty but I like it immaculate before we go as I hate coming back to mess. Got to leave clean cupboards and fresh bedding 😂😂 We once had an infestation of ants in the kitchen ( it was about 40 years ago but the image stays with me) I’d bought a catering pack of fondant icing. When I opened it to do a wedding cake - it was a mass of black moving things….I wasn’t away BUT I like to make sure there’s no chance of anything like that happening ever again. I imagine all sorts if I go and have done my usual jobs. Dh also realised his ukulele group has a performance tomorrow night 👍 so we’re staying put.
I lost 1/2 lb at SW which I’m happy with as I had ds birthday and the free lunch on Wednesday. I also know I always weigh more when my tummy plays up 😏 We’re debating whether to head out for a walk. It’s very drizzly atm but the weatherman says it should brighten up….not looking promising though.January spends - £587.581 -
Ants…shudder. A million of them once invaded my conservatory by climbing up the cavity wall. Luckily not my current house, but it was freaky and really awful getting rid of them…like trying to hold the tide back. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

We once had an ant invasion on the boat. They marched up one of mooring ropes and onto the boat 🤣🤣🤣0

I really do not like ants. I had them in a few years ago & got rid of them. Last year they found their way into my meter cupboard in the porch, they must have followed either the gas pipe or electicity wires through. Well it did not seem too good an idea to spray wet stuff in the meter cupboard so dash out for powder. Thankfully they have not been seen since. I've never seen a dead one though, even with all the spraying, well apart from the ones the spray actually landed on. The first lot I was trying to find out how they got in so I sprayed to break their path & just keep doing that until I got the point of entry. The bad winter had broken the "stuff" around a pipe coming in through the back wall. The little beggars get everywhere.

Bizarrely I haven’t seen an ant in years. They obviously don’t like where we live. Used to get them at our old house though. One insect I don’t miss from my childhood home is Devil’s Coach Horses, blooming scary things they are, like mini scorpions.Well done on the half a pound, every little helps 🙂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

SA I’ve just had to look up Devils Coach Horse as I’d never heard of them. Never seen them around these parts…..thank goodness.
Dh has just got dressed up in his best bib and tucker…..bow tie and tux. Makes me want to go somewhere that I need to dress up for…..I’ve haven’t been anywhere dressy for a LONG time. He’s going with his ukulele group to do a turn run by a local youth group which is James Bond themed for an Alzheimer’s group. Could be an interesting evening.I spent £5 yesterday as I’d forgotten to get yoghurt when I went shopping….I ended up getting extra fruit as it was on offer. 1st spend of February 😀. I still haven’t totalled January’s properly but I’ve stayed well within budget.
I made a Greek style lamb and roasted veg yesterday with cous cous and pitta. It was better than any takeaway and only a couple of syns in the whole lot. I’ve been on it today too….bacon and tomato barm for breakfast and jacket, tuna and salad for tea with a jelly whip made from sugar free jelly and a vanilla protein pot (yoghurt style thingy) whisked together. Twas lovely. I’m very determined this time but going to enjoy a couple of meals out again this week so I’m being especially good at home 👍January spends - £587.580 -
I’m still planning a lunch out too. As long as I’m somewhere close to my calories on the bad day I won’t worry too much. I’m not going to have a year of being miserable and then relax so much it piles back on.I did see somewhere that low carbs is good, but looking at my calorie tracker there seems to be a lot of carbs in everything…I’m busting that budget even while avoiding bread!Your spends are really impressive. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

WW the spends are only impressive because I went a bit mad over Christmas and was well stocked up and I didn’t need anything. And I had cash left on my @sd@ saving scheme.
Seeing Dh dressed up last night seems to have made me really cheesed off. I can’t remember the last time I wore something really nice. My nice dresses won’t fit me any more and I have no desire to buy more. I think some of this has something to do with body image and the little addition to my tummy……
reading that back it sounds like a baby 😂😂😂 😱😱 - oh my goodness - I can assure you it’s nothing of the kind…..just the little stoma bag 😉
Right I need to make more of an effort and wearing make up more often to begin with will be a start.
Not sure what we’re doing today. It’s quite sunny but absolutely freezing. I suppose we’ll head out for a walk later.

I’m the same! I really want to make more of an effort, but I look shocking in dressy clothes right now. The bargain dress I got from Roman originals (in current me size) fits, but I look huge. Sideways on I look like I’m smuggling a beach ball or a large baby (definitely not!). It seems my extra weight has flocked to my tummy and chins 😖 I’m not sure that even control tights and heels would improve it much. Anyhow, it’s something to aim for..I’ll try it on again in a month and will keep doing that until I feel safe to be seen in public. Do you have a lovely dress you could aim for? I’m sure your stoma won’t be noticeable to anyone else, it’s just because you know it’s there ♥️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
