Your coat and boots sound ideal for your commute. I’m getting to the point where lots of stuff is falling apart, but I’m holding off on replacements due to all the bills for the work on the house. And the fact that I hate shopping!

The soup is a keeper recipe after taste testing earlier. If I can post a link to it I will.

Made a quorn mince chilli tonight which used up a few bits of veg plus a bag of Quorn from freezer stocks.

The dishwasher will need to be replaced sooner rather than later. It’s not draining properly and some things aren’t coming out clean. I’m going to see if I can get a good deal on the gift cards I can buy from work then go via TCB. Might as well do it as MSE as possible.

I’ve made a start on the Christmas decorations and the fireplace is done plus the mirror in the hall. The tree will go up next Sunday.

Have been listening to Smooth Christmas Chill to get me in the mood.

    Recipe below:
    Roasted and curried cauliflower soup.

1/2 of a cauliflower broken into sliced florets
    2 potatoes peeled and chopped
    1 onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
    3 tablespoons of olive oil
    1 pint of vegetable stock
3 tablespoons of hot curry powder
    2 tablespoons of ground cumin
    1 tablespoon of ground coriander
3/4 tin of coconut milk (1/4 tin for swirling over at the end)
    Salt and pepper
(1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder- optional)
1 tablespoon of chopped fresh coriander
    ( poppadoms/ naan- optional)

    Pre heat oven to 200°
Using 1 tablespoon of oil rub over the cauliflower and place on a baking tray roast in the oven till lightly golden brown about 15 mins.
In your soup pan using the the other tablespoon of oil heat till slightly shimmering
Add the onion and potato and sauté for a couple of mins now add the garlic and cook for a couple of minutes more, stirring so it doesn’t catch
Now add the spices ( chilli powder) and salt and pepper ( white pepper gives it a different kind of heat ).
Add your stock and cauliflower and cook till the cauliflower is soft
    Add the coconut milk
Take off the heat and blitz with a hand blender till smooth
Serve into warmed bowls with a scattering of chopped coriander and a drizzle of coconut milk .
Serve with poppadoms or naan bread .
    Enjoy.

The builder thinks he could be finished on Monday all being well. To be on the safe side I've changed Mr SA's eye test/trip into town to the Wednesday and amended my day off work.

I was sent a 25% off airport lounges code so have booked it for next April. Saved around £20.

That's a very handy discount - and doesn't it make the holiday seem nearer?  Perhaps one to save for when Mr SA is wanting 'treats'? 'Yes, I'm going to see my friends, but I've booked the airport lounge, I thought you might like that to look forward to'.

Have you thought how you are going to be able to stop Mr SA going exploring in the loft with the new access?
