Time for a pewter tankard or a plastic cup! I suspect you wouldn't get away with a plastic cup but you may get away with a tankard. At least then it is "only" beer.2

Arrrgh to the beer! Would a plastic beer tankard work for Mr SA, easier to grip because of the handle and won't smash into a zillion pieces if dropped.

Thank you for the link @pennywisepoundstupid. For now he's decided to switch to a small glass that will be easier for him to grip. It's the grip in his hands that's the issue. I was still finding bits of glass this morning!
Worked in the office until lunchtime and doing the afternoon shift from home. Looking forward to my day off tomorrow.
Stopped off at Lidl on the way home to pick up a free doughnut for Mr SA and the bread rolls I forgot yesterday. They didn't have any veg boxes at all today so glad I picked one up yesterday.
A small Mr M delivery arrived about an hour ago. Still on track for a grocery budget underspend. It's the final week of the 4 week budget period and it's worked much better splitting the grocery budget into 4, it's made me more mindful of what I spend.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and it's live resistance bands at 6.30.
Tonight's dinner is leftover butternut squash orzotto from Sunday.
I was able to get down the stairs at work without any twinges in my ankle so hopefully this means it's better.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Do you include all groceries etc in your 4-weekly budget @Sun_Addict, or do you do a separate shop for bulk supplies like some do? I've been considering splitting mine into weekly amounts as I also think it may work better 🤔1

I think that is key @Sun_Addict picking up stuff you already use when it is on offer. I like Lid! single estate coffee and bulk bought when it was last on offer. The price now is about £1.20 per pack higher! Glad you have a day off tomorrowIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

That’s my day off done.Started my day with coffee and my book in my hanging chair - what a lovely treat that was. Then did a live yoga session followed by taking the dog on the park. After that I had a hairdresser appointment and had a quick potter around the high street before returning home. Bought a River Cottage Everyday Vegetables cookery book for £1 from the charity shop. It looks brand new and is still selling for £20 on Am@zon.Then had to sort out Mr SA’s phone as the screen had gone funny. It was evident it was broken so claimed on his insurance for a replacement. Had to pay £20 excess well worth it for a new phone. It’s coming tomorrow. It was super easy to put the claim, it was done and dusted in 5 minutes. Well worth the £5 a month for the cover. Then it was lunchtime. After lunch I spent a good hour tidying the garden and greenhouse and cut the grass. Then finally got to sit in my hanging chair with my book until it was time for Zumba.Made miso tofu and aubergine stir fry for tonight’s dinner which was delicious.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Morning (just)
WFH today. Had breakfast in my hanging chair again which was a nice start to my day.
Took the dog on the park early before it got too hot although it feels slightly cooler than yesterday.
Mr SA is on listening out for his new phone being delivered duties.
Mid week finance check done a day later than usual. CC balance paid off.
Today's exercise is dog walking (done), a live strength training session at lunchtime and Zumba tonight.
Housework tasks are ironing, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of lentil dhal from freezer stocks with rice.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

I'm glad the phone insurance worked out so well.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Another working week done 🎉
Worked in the office and finished just after lunch.Stopped off at Lid! on the way home. Picked up a free pizza slice which has gone in the freezer for a future meal. Now received a voucher for 30% off the bill at the venue where I’m going with my friends for the birthday meal. They’re very happy with that 🤣 Really looking forward to this.Yesterday noticed a car pulled across our driveway then heard the letterbox go. Retrieved said letter to find it was a final demand before seizure of goods for someone who most definitely doesn’t live here. The address was also wrong as they’d added an A after the number and that doesn’t exist. Managed to catch the bloke in the car and put him straight. He apologised and said he’d return the letter. Told him I suspected it was for a house further down the road which has the same numbers but in a different order, we often get takeaways and letters meant for this address and have to redirect them. That house is split into flats and would explain the A. Can you imagine though if I hadn’t caught the bloke and someone turned up to seize goods when Mr SA was on his own!
Picked up the euros for Ibiza today so that’s done. We’d already got €140 left from Lanzarote so didn’t need many more for just 3 nights.Got home from work, put the shopping away then went and sat in my hanging chair with my book for a couple of hours.Today’s exercise has been walking to/from work.Tonight’s dinner was air fried salmon with air fried new potatoes and steamed veg.Now time to put my feet up with a glass of ice cold rose.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9
