Well that’s another working week done.

Worked in the office today and had my usual early Friday finish. Hardly anyone there it was really quiet.

Made the mistake of walking to work in a pair of sandals that started off comfortable then started to hurt my feet. This was me being vain as they looked good with my skirt 🙄 On top of that this past few days my ankle with the plate and screws in has started hurting around the area where the plate is and it decided to join the sore feet party. I’m terrified of lifts so managed to somehow get up the 12 flights of stairs to my floor. However coming back down was agony for my ankle. At one stage I contemplated the lift and called it but chickened out when the doors opened, I couldn’t do it.

I asked Mr SA to meet me outside Lid! with some comfier sandals which reminded me of my younger days when I used to go to a local pub with a disco. My lovely mum used to meet me halfway between the pub and home with a pair of flat shoes as I would’ve been dancing the night away in sky high heels. However I used to tell her if I was with a lad she had to pretend not to know me and walk on. The things she did for me 😆

I was ready for a sit down when I got home so after unpacking the bit of shopping I uncovered my hanging chair and relaxed with my book in the lovely sunshine.

My feet are still sore 😞 When I had the ankle fixed I was told I could have the plate/screws out if they started to cause issues. I’m hoping this is just a temporary thing as I don’t fancy an op to remove them.

For anyone who hasn’t read my previous diary this is the ankle Mr SA trashed when he ran me over on his mobility scooter through sheer carelessness - both inner and outer bones were broken and dislocated and the bone was about to break through the skin. Thanks to the swift action of the paramedics it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been.

So today’s exercise was hobbling to and from work. Nothing else.

Tonight’s dinner was Tesc0 fire pit mango, coconut and lime fish skewers (which were really nice) with basmati rice and steamed veg.

I hope your ankle settles down.  It's awful when shoes start hurting - makes every step painful.  I love the story about your mum and the flat shoes.

DH had an op to remove plate & screws after having one in for a couple of years after breaking his collar bone in a motorbike accident. It caused so much pain if he, or anyone, touched the area. The op was really easy and he felt so much better for it afterwards.
Hope your ankle feels better. Try soaking in Epsom salts.

I am in awe of all those stairs! I really hope the ankle settles down again - but perhaps tonight you will dream you've been out clubbing again! Bless her, your Mum was a star.
