That’s another weekend over 😭
I’ve been so busy but feeling productive so not complaining.Yesterday we went to big Mr T with the soft plastics recycling incorporating a dog walk into it and steps for me. Then gave the kitchen a good clean followed by an hour in the sun in the hanging chair with my book. I fell asleep 🤣 No visit from the GKs as the whole family had a bug. Mr SA enjoyed his Greek night kebabs and Mythos. I made myself lentil koftas which were tasty but they fell apart a bit so the remaining mixture was turned into soup for work lunches. The downside of the day was both Mr SA and the dog had dodgy tummies after lunch. They had shared some bacon so I’m putting it down to that although it wasn’t out of date or off and it was good quality bacon not cheap stuff. The dog pooped on the rug 😞 Both of them were fine later so couldn’t have been food poisoning.Today we’ve been on the park with the dog, I litter picked and also picked a bowl of blackberries which will do me for a couple of overnight oats breakfasts.Got a load of washing dry despite the odd shower.Got the carpet cleaner out and did the landing carpet and the rug. Both have come up lovely and I’m once again very impressed with the machine. Also steam scrubbed all the hard floors and gave the bathroom a good clean.Tonight’s dinner was vegan mushroom and lentil tacos, another new recipe. I bought some mini corn tacos from Ald! which were perfect for this. There’s a lot of the mushroom and lentil mixture left which I’ve frozen for future reference.Over the weekend I’ve decluttered/tidied up my jewellery box and got rid of a few bits that were broken. A few other things I no longer wear/like have gone in the charity bag - only trinkets not expensive stuff. The kitchen cupboard decluttering has finished and I’ve moved on to the bedroom. I need to be ruthless I have way too much stuff!Today was NSD 1 of August, determined to keep a count this month!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Might just be that bacon is too rich for both their ageing tummies. At least Mr SA didn't also poop on the rug, so that's something!
I must try to find time and motivation to go blackberry picking, its such a wholesome joyhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

We went for our first blackberry walk today, got almost 2kg, some will go to DD & a small bag to my friend. Froze a few & will use some up over the week. Hopefully more to come in the week.

I've enjoyed reading your thread (all of it from the beginning). I enjoy your sense of humor and how you have overcome so much, especially with Mr. SA. Maybe because I'm another August girl.3

It's a fab year for blackberries, isn't it? I can see I'm going to be busy turning them into all sorts of things for the pantry.

Monday again and back on the hamster wheel of work, eat, sleep, repeat until I get spat out at the weekend.
I've booked a couple of days off decided to tag them onto my birthday week so I only do 2 days that week. Our leave year finishes at the end of the month and I had 11 days left, we're allowed to carry over 10. I'm now carrying over 9 but will be using 5 of those at the beginning of September.
Worked in the office today until lunchtime. WFH this afternoon. Managed to dodge the showers thankfully. Free coffee picked up and enjoyed.
Not a NSD as I've been in Lid! and also had to buy a new backpack as mine has ripped. I was hoping it would last me until I retired but unfortunately not. I got a nice one from TK for just £16.99, I think it's a kids one but it ticks all the boxes so...
Finances have been checked and updated. All the regular savers have been fed with the maximum amounts. Another £150 overpayment gone to the mortgage. £2.76 underspend in the grocery budget this week, not a lot but still an underspend which is good.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and I'm doing a live strength training session at 7.15. I also want to try the live yoga/mindfulness session at 8pm. Mr SA will moan about me doing the 8pm one as it's when I usually sit down to watch an hour of TV with him (and invariably fall asleep!).
I've got two live food planning workshops later where I usually come away with a load of new recipes to try.
Tonight's dinner is one I've made before veg sausage and sweet potato traybake.
