Thank you all 🙂 It has flown by that’s for sure.
We all know how fast a week flies by in normal circumstances but seems even faster on holiday 🙁
Last night we went to a lovely restaurant and Mr SA had the fillet steak in pepper sauce which he really enjoyed although I had to cut it up for him. The chef flambé’d it right at the side of where we were sitting. I had brown rice with lots of veg which probably doesn’t sound as interesting but was delicious. It wasn’t a cheap night but we’ve done really well with the spending money so had a treat. The waiters were absolutely above and beyond with Mr SA, helping him to his seat, to the toilet and back onto his scooter.
Mr SA didn’t fancy going out after breakfast as he wanted to watch Sunday Brunch 😐 so I was free to go for a wander on my own. We’ve plenty of euros left over so I treated myself to a bag. Yes my turn for a bag 🤣 Also picked up some sweets for the GKs and some aloe vera cream for DIL. I’m going to give DD an Amazon voucher as there isn’t really anything much for her in the shops. I always take DS back a couple of cans of the local beer.We went out for lunch and I’ve been relaxing in the sun reading since we got back.Mr SA is already showered and dressed for tonight! Told him it’s too early. We have to be up for around 7am tomorrow so not that early a start. This time tomorrow we should be back at home.I think we’ll go to a restaurant we’ve enjoyed a couple of times tonight. It’s an odd place run by Chinese people but not with Chinese food. The restaurant looks like it was decorated by Temu - all plastic flower walls, fairy lights and pink fur throws 🤣 However the food is good, I had some great veggie tapas there the other night and the staff are lovely.Right off for a bit more time in the sun before we head out.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10 -

So pleased things have settled down and you've enjoyed your holiday. Nice to read about restaurant staff being so good with MrSA and that he is enjoying himself in his own way.4

Back home with my feet up of the sofa with the dog now.The flight back was only 3.5 hours instead of 4, the pilot said he was going to put his foot down and he did 😆 The airport special assistance was fantastic both ends and we were through security and customs in minutes.
Oh my days the taxi palaver 😞 Waited for an hour outside in a cold wind and still no sign. Couldn’t get to speak to a real person just an automated message saying they were trying to locate a driver. By a stroke of luck I decided to go back into the airport to enquire about a taxi from the firm based there only to be told they had merged with the taxi company I originally booked with and they were waiting for me to book in at the desk! How the hell was I supposed to know this!! Completely different named companies!!Anyway all’s well that ends well and we arrived home in 30 minutes after that as there was very little traffic. The dog was overjoyed to see us. She’d 💩 on a rug but had been on her own all day so can’t moan. What is it with animals that they have to mess on rugs when all the floors are hard and would’ve been easier to clean 😐
Whose idea was it to book a hair appointment for 9am tomorrow 🤦♀️ It must’ve seemed like a good idea at the time. Plus a Mr M delivery for the same time. Mr SA will have to sort that one out.Bit of a shock to the system having to cook tonight. Just scampi, wedges and veg so nothing too fancy. I’d frozen some broccoli before we went away and forgot to blanch it first but it was surprisingly ok.Garden wise the plants seem to be doing well, there’s a riot of bluebells and the tamarisk is in full bloom so it’s very colourful. DD has been watering the plants and has kept the pond topped up.Despite my last day shopping and spending a fair bit at the airport on coffees, water, baguettes and a bottle of my favourite Puertas de Indias strawberry gin we’ve still come back with €150. It’s very reasonably priced in Lanzarote and there’s something to suit all budgets. We would definitely return to the hotel we’ve just stayed in. It wasn’t cheap but it was lovely and the staff were so helpful. This is why we keep returning to Lanzarote as everyone is so welcoming and helpful.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
