Well done for declining the lunchtime meeting.  It used to irritate me when I was working and would have online meetings after online meeting in the diary and then someone adding in another meeting in the only gap left for lunch.  Mind you when I worked in a real life office and was eating lunch at my desk I found it odd that people would come in, see me munching a sandwich and say "oh are you having lunch?"  Err no I usually sit with a sandwich in my mouth 😋

I wonder if there is a way we can share our long term Iceland memberships?

The one for Tuesday? For over 60’s? Or one I have missed?

As far as I know the one for Tuesday is for over 60s.  But it has been a while, which is why I wondered.

I also hate lunchtime meetings, some people always seem to choose them.

Maybe with retirement in mind now is the time to impose a one in/one out rule? If he thinks he needs extra stuff for holiday and he's got something perfectly adequate, the equivalent item gets sold and added to your mutual retirement pot from which all his purchases are going to have to be made?
Or would he just ignore that all entirely 😁

Is it time to squirrel away some of Mr SA's holiday stuff so you can come up with some 'surprise bargain buys' nearer the time? If he remembers an item, you can always go through the holiday stuff with him and not happen to find it in there, so isn't it lucky you spotted the one you just 'bought' him.

I already do this otherwise he'd ruin his nice clothes and he's always surprised at what is revealed. The other day he was saying he wanted a lightweight sports jacket to travel in and I reminded him I'd bought him one last year and produced it from under a pile of his coats. He dismissed it as needing washing so I washed it and he still declared it not what he wants 😐 He's always associated going on holiday with buying new clothes, regardless of whether they're needed, and once he's decided he wants something new it's hard to change his mind and it becomes an obsession because he doesn't have anything else to occupy him. I know he's building up to wanting to go shopping in the city centre.
