Thank you all I really enjoyed yesterday. Out of the various catch ups I have with friends I think this trip is my favourite. It was quite a spendy day as I bought a few things but I had my survey money set aside for this purpose. It makes a lovely change to browse around independent shops rather than chains and it’s only 2 or 3 times a year that I do this trip. After the shopping we went for a lovely lunch and chatted for a couple of hours in the sunshine. All too soon it was time to go home and back to reality 🙁
Mr SA knew where I was going without me telling him but possibly because I’d written it on the calendar 😆 Also his sister rang him to tell him I’d checked in on FB from the train station - the snitch. If it’s a secret day out I don’t check in for this very reason.Anyway he didn’t moan about it and was excited to see what I’d bought. Probably because he’s on a promise of a shopping trip next Saturday. I’ll make sure I’ve got his holiday clothes out beforehand so he realises just how much stuff he has. He reckons he only wants a zip up top to travel in so that’s him coming back with a new man bag, canvas shoes, etc no doubt.DS and the GKs are coming later so I want to spend the morning cleaning and tidying. I don’t need to go to the shops. My feet are really sore today as I wore sandals for the first time this year yesterday after my feet had been cushioned in socks and trainers for months. Should have thought that one through before walking over 20,000 steps 😐
Hopefully will manage some time in my hanging chair in the garden after the visitors have gone.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
That sounds like a really lovely time out, all planned and money set aside in advance, too.
I'm not an expert on FB, but can you make it possible for SiL not to see your posts? I have a vague memory that if you set a post for a selected audience, that setting remains till you change it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Forgot to say yesterday the park volunteers group I’m part of obtained a key for the play park as the council bloke hasn’t been locking it at night despite being paid for it 😡This is to stop teenagers from going in and ruining the equipment. They had suggested in the What’s App group that I lock it at night as I only live across the road!! The gate has to be locked at dusk which is currently 8.30 and gradually getting later. As I am in my PJs finally relaxing at this time do they really think I should be going out and possibly turfing teenagers off a park to lock it and face abuse 😡 Plus I feel overwhelmed with stuff to do at the moment as it is and this is an extra thing I really don’t want to do. I will decline profusely as someone is being paid to do this and it’s his responsibility not mine. It made me so angry yesterday and I’m still cross now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9

Pleased you enjoyed your day out you more than deserve it I would be telling that cheeky sister of Mr SA that next time you are going anywhere you will let her know and she can come and visit her brother as for locking the park I would be fuming as well stand your ground you have more than enough on your plate no wonder you feel overwhelmed I’ve said it before you deserve a medal 🥇4

I think you can set the FB notifications up permanently or until you want to change it. I agree it's a faff if you have to do it for every post.
If the Council should be locking the playpark, make a complaint if it's not being done (with dates, if available). Certainly don't take it on yourself - apart from the hassle, you could be putting yourself at risk. Someone really hasn't thought that one through when they suggested it.
Hope you get lots done today and can relax tomorrow!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

As if you want to take on the role of unpaid park keeper 7 nights a week! I do wonder about the thinking process that some people have when they come up with these suggestions. Daft enough thinking it but outrageous to suggest it.6
