    Happy Saturday 🥂

The whole morning revolved around going to the retail park to look for garden canes, hooks to fix the trellis to the fence and a few other garden related bits and bobs. I had planned to go on the bus on my own to save time but Mr SA insisted on coming with me on his scooter so it was an hour’s walk each way for me. Left the house at 8am and got back just before 12. Mostly a waste of time as I couldn’t find what I wanted apart from the canes. Got home and found all the stuff I couldn’t find in the shops on Am@zon and it’s arriving tomorrow. I should’ve just done that in the first place and saved myself 4 hours. And they wonder why people shop online 😐

I did get a great bargain from BnM though - 2 packs of 12 W@rburtons crumpets for 50p each. Not even out of date until 1 April. They are destined for the freezer for future breakfasts. I also picked up some air fryer spray oil while I was in there.

Despite aching feet did some gardening this afternoon while Mr SA went back to bed as the shopping had worn him out!

Just had a nice soak in the bath before preparing dinner. Trying another new recipe from The Vegan Air Fryer cookbook - sticky mushroom burger with homemade wedges and salad. Then it’s feet up on the sofa with rose Prosecco 🥂

Thank you for welcoming me back on my diary.
Sorry your garden centre trip was mostly pointless! But your crumpet bargain makes up for that hopefully.
    Prosecco time! Enjoy  :)

I agree about the online shopping v actually going to the shops and searching.  My dad has lots of random requests for things - a knee support, reading glasses, a comb that cuts hair and a seat cushion were this week's random requests.  All bought on line and delivered within 2 or 3 days.  I still like casual browsing in real life shops but I wouldn't even know where to start for some of the things dad wants.

    enjoy your cava!

The crumpets were packs of 9 not 12. Still a bargain though.

Forgot to say an old friend who emigrated to Oz is back in the UK visiting family and wants to catch up, Not sure when I’m going to fit her in as April is already pretty jam packed. She wanted me to go out with her tonight but obviously I can’t just drop everything on a Saturday night, oh my days, Mr SA would be making me wear a hair shirt for weeks. I told her daytime is better for me.

We passed the local train station when we were out today and I noticed they now only offer one route. So I won’t be going far from that station with my railcard 🤣

DD came home from work with a lovely bouquet of flowers and a card for me and even managed to say happy Mother's Day. DS phoned to wish me a happy Mother's Day.

The dog has been on the park twice. I did my usual litter pick and standards of litter are going up as one of the discarded wrappers was the expensive Dubai chocolate 🤣

I didn't get everything on my to do list done. I stand need to lose that hour today! The fence hooks are perfect although I need a few more. The trellis looks really good, I wish I'd been able to get a few more pieces from Lid! but I about cleared them out as it was. Next door brought my chair cover back. I've tied it to the legs as it's still very windy.

I made a batch of carrot and coriander soup for work lunches and the vegan banana loaf.

The last 4 week budget period has been closed off with a £89.55 underspend. £9.55 has gone to the Christmas pot, £20 to the house pot, £30 to vet pot and £30 to tech pot.

Saturday kitchen showed Nadiya's banana skin curry again on the show on Saturday morning, I'm still not sure how I feel about it so haven't tried it but my OH is going through a banana phase at the moment so might make it one weekend. It does make the curry veggie/vegan so I think it would work for you.

I've seen that recipe before, either in Good Food magazine or on their app. I'm a bit iffy about mixing sweet and savoury so probably wouldn't try it.
