Monday - it is the washday blues.  Monday used to be the day all women did the washing.  Dolly blue anyone.  Males whites white again.  Well according to my grandma who was born just before the turn of the last century.

    Morning all.

Already an expensive start to the day as my phone started playing up yesterday so I've finally bit the bullet and ordered a new one. The money is there in the pot and by waiting a bit the price of the one with a lot more storage has come down so that's a plus point. What I don't want is for my phone to die on me while we're on holiday. I want to shop around for a new sim deal as 02 are putting up the price next month, it's less than £8 a month currently.

In other gadgets playing up news my FitBit won't turn on this morning. It needed charging last night, which I did, now it won't respond. Will try resetting it.

Talking of prices going up, had the water rates bill and it's gone up by over £100 for the year. Just waiting for the Council Tax shock now, although last year I didn't find out how much it was until they actually started taking it out of the bank!

Mr M delivery coming later. I usually have a 6am delivery but when I went to update my order on Sunday I realised I hadn't booked a delivery at all! Managed to get a 11.30 slot thankfully. I've now booked my 6am deliveries for the next 3 Tuesdays, as far ahead as it will let me go at the moment.

The small freezer is back up and running again so need to start moving stuff back in. Mr M had some good deals on frozen food and also some meat on flash sales so that's Mr SA stocked up. I want to try and allocate one shelf for batch cooking.

The garden waste service has finally started back up again, didn't find out until last night. The bin is full so quickly moved it to the end of the drive.

Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, Power Punch at lunchtime and Resistance Bands tonight.

Making a batch of leek, kale and butterbean soup for work lunches for the rest of the week. I need to consult my meal plan for tonight's dinner, I've become slightly disorganised with it this week, still it's only Tuesday so time to get back on track.

Did my Monday finance check yesterday and paid off the cc balance. Will do another check today as need to move the phone money from savings so that's the tech pot emptied, another pot to build back up again!

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

How do gadgets know when other gadgets are failing? They must do, because I get them breaking down in a bunch as well.

Happy new phone, when it comes, and I hope the Fitbit starts up okay. Mine had a blip a couple of months ago where the heart rate used to spike at 4pm. Once I got over worrying and googled a bit, I realised it was the Fitbit not me so I turned off the heart rate monitoring. DH bought a much cheaper fitness monitoring that seems to cover the functions I need so I may opt for that next time.

Thanks for the reminder about paying off credit cards: I'd better do mine.

The water rates here are ridiculous.  My band B has gone up £180, so over 27.5%.  It seems like they have been told they can put them up by a certain percentage over the next five years & have done that all in the first year.  Needless to say that I did not budget for that kind of increase.

Just caught up as been AWOL for a few days.  Glad you had a good day out and definitely should get MR SA checked out., DH had a similar problem 11 years ago, and it turned out to be Ulcerative Colitis, easily treatable

Our water rates has gone up by £123 a year, so we have decided to try a water meter, and if we're not happy, we can change back within the first 12 months.

I did check if it would be cheaper to go on a water meter but the estimate was £400 a year more 😱

My Fitbit is still playing up saying the battery is flat despite charging it. I’m lost without it as I use it as a watch and alarm too.

Mr SA bought himself yet another pair of gloves from the charity shop. Now he’s started saying he has no coats “all of a sudden” (he has several!). I sense a pester coming 😬
