    Glad you had a good day, the G&T was definitely well earned after the start of it! Do you think annoyance at that was why your friends detected there might be something bothering you?

    Glad you had a nice day with your friends.

    With your pension, if it's a DB and it's your 'normal' retirement age according to the scheme, is it worth checking whether it's worth taking it now anyway?  How much extra would you get for deferring it an extra couple of years, and how long would it take to recover the money you would have got by taking it this year?  Just thinking you could start taking it, squirrel it away into a spare savings account, and have a little fun pot for yourself when you do retire.  You could then re-add it to the household budget when you officially retire.

    Thanks for that. I will check although I’m pretty certain it’s contribution based. Might be worth seeing if I can get a tax free lump sum at least.
