Hope you had a lovely day out. How annoying about Mr SAs "accident". Frustrating he won't get it investigated but then he doesn't have to clear it up so has no incentive to sort it. I would definitely preempt the retirement discussion and that you will not be around for him all the time. I belong to the U3a and ramblers and both those organisations sound like they would be up your street. A day out hiking with friends does wonders to blow the cobwebs away and get you away from real life problems.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Just what was it they used to do with dogs that kept having accidents.3

I had a lovely afternoon with my friends. I’ve not long got back home. Unfortunately I had to be a party pooper and leave them to it, I can’t drink like I used to be able to 😆 Plus I have Mr SA to deal with. Can’t moan though as we’d been out since 11.30 and I left just after 5pm. Several of them commented separately that I didn’t seem my usual self and asked if I was ok. I didn’t realise I was being any different.I had a nice wander around town although ran out of time for a coffee as I was later setting out than planned due to having to change the bedding and go over the stairs carpet again where it was still stained.By 11.30 my feet were aching so went in the pub where we were all meeting and had a much needed G&T instead of a coffee 😆
We are planning another catch up very soon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
Glad you had a lovely day and sorry it didn't start so great for you.

I hope you have had a fabulous day.
I was swimming this morning and found myself thinking about MrSA's perception of unfair,
so I wonder if all of the following that you do is a fair distribution of responsibilities according to MrSA's standards of fairnessWorking full time
shopping
cooking
cleaning (general and accident related)
Gardening
running the household finances
looking after the pets
organising and paying for holidays
I'm sure there is also loads more that you do!
anyway I'm glad that he doesn't succeed in making you feel guilty or stopping having time to yourself. You truly are amazing.8 -
Glad you had a good day, the G&T was definitely well earned after the start of it! Do you think annoyance at that was why your friends detected there might be something bothering you?2

@blackcats I’m sure you have better things to think about when you’re swimming 🤣 You’re right though that does about sum up his sense of fair.@PennysIntoPounds I’ve had a general feeling of being cheesed off all week and thought I was hiding it well. Obviously not. I try not to burden them with my moans about Mr SA although they do know how it is.I ended up catching the bus today rather than walking into town because my trainers didn’t really go well with my leopard skin print jeans so had to wear my boots which aren’t that comfortable for long distances. Yes leopard skin print jeans 😆 Still did just over 15,000 steps so not too shabby.I went to Primani to stock up on cotton wool pads to find they no longer sell them for eco reasons. I said to them this is a good reason obviously but the reusable ones are no good for removing nail varnish. I noticed B00ts still have them. I use the washable pads for removing make up but find they drag on my skin.
I’m starting to get messages from my friends saying they’ve arrived home now so they’re not the hard core party girls they thought they were 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Glad you had a nice day with your friends.
With your pension, if it's a DB and it's your 'normal' retirement age according to the scheme, is it worth checking whether it's worth taking it now anyway? How much extra would you get for deferring it an extra couple of years, and how long would it take to recover the money you would have got by taking it this year? Just thinking you could start taking it, squirrel it away into a spare savings account, and have a little fun pot for yourself when you do retire. You could then re-add it to the household budget when you officially retire."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney3 -
