I'm finding those 'little' extra things to do, like taking the cat to the vet, can tip the week from 'normal' to 'too much' and you've had a full week. I hope the weekend is relaxing.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

It very much is just the "little extra things" that can mess up your week isn't it? I don't even work anymore, but I do have a routine and a lot of things to do, and 1 extra thing can sometimes throw me completely out. DH might say...."Can you just drop of this parcel for me?"....which if it is at the Evri shop, is not on any normal route I would take to anywhere, so I have to go out of my way. Or I decide to go shopping at a different SM, and by the time I've got home and put it all away, that's the morning gone. When I went for my hearing test...they said it was a 75 min appt. But to get there on time, I had to leave early due to commuting traffic, so that took me over half an hour. Then I wanted to get there in time to be able to nip in the loo first....lol. Then the appt actually dragged into 2 hours ( not that that's a bad thing, as it shows they are doing the job properly), then I came out and needed the loo again, then the drive home. So all in all, almost 4 hours for 1 hearing test, and then the morning was gone!Making the debt go down and savings go up

It was the extra things definitely @Makingabobor2. Although I did the vet trip on a WFH day, as it took an hour longer than expected, I ended up working later to make the time up. I really wanted to do my beloved Zumba class but was running late getting dinner started so in the end I did it in the kitchen while I kept an eye on the cooking. Multi tasking 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Happy Saturday 🥂
Made a list of all the things I want to get done this weekend. Top of the list was update the TiVo box finally so decided to do that before Mr SA got up. Easier said than done as it appears the box is no longer connected to the internet. Did the usual switch off and on checks, still no joy. The error code on the TV suggests the Ethernet cable isn’t connected to it - it is I’ve checked!! I was going to return the new router today as the internet has been working well and I don’t want to upset everything by installing a new router then having all the hassle of reconnecting the WiFi extenders yet again, plus yet another new password 😞 Maybe I should install the new router and this would fix the issue with the TiVo - but the WiFi seems fine.I’ve decided to phone VM for advice as it could well be the box but I really can’t face all the faff today so will do it tomorrow. We have TV and internet so not a major issue. This is exactly the sort of thing that takes up my time. We’ve been to the big Mr T this morning, dropped off the coffee pods recycling on the way and also took the soft plastics to Mr T. The dog got a walk and a 💩
I am just about to start on the kitchen cupboards and freezers. I feel like putting a hazard sign up to keep people out. DD has just made her lunch and gone back to her room and Mr SA has gone for his siesta so a perfect opportunity.I want to get as much done as I can today to free up time to sort out the router and TiVo box tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Busy Saturday, you will be ready for your prosecco later. Maybe you just need VM to send you out a new Tivo box. We had a new one sent when ours was playing up, and its fine now. I think its like mobile phones, they are forever updating them and all of a suden you find that your particular model is not working quite as it shouldMaking the debt go down and savings go up

I spent a good two hours emptying the kitchen food cupboards, wiping the shelves and listing everything before it went back in. Then tackled both freezers and did the same. I need to type up the lists and print them off - and keep them up to date!I only need to do the herbs and spices drawer now.I’m the closest I’ve been in a long time to finally emptying the overspill freezer and defrosting it. I’m trying to gradually bring stuff in to the kitchen freezer which is thankfully frost free. Once it’s defrosted the plan is to stock it back up with batch cooked meals to save time in the week.Mr SA is still in bed 3 hours after my last post! He spends more time asleep than awake.Looking forward to pizza, Prosecco and The Masked Singer tonight.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

It's so annoying to leave the kitchen clean and tidy and come home to other people's mess. To be fair MrBC is quite tidy (in the kitchen though less so everywhere else) but when the kids were teens that made more mess than I thought humanly possible in the kitchen. Crumbs, lids, empty yoghurt pots, dirty spoons, dirty cups, glasses and bowls, cereal boxes, crisp wrappers and in a very short time. Crikey it's all coming back to me like a kitchen nightmare but not a Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmare 😵💫1

Excuse for leaving the empty packaging on the worktop. I left it out so that you knew I'd eaten it.3

I can't bear that sort of task, @Sun_Addict - the whole 'making bits of tech talk to other bits of tech' scenario. Luckily for me, it's one of Mr F's most enjoyable ways to spend an afternoon. Each to their own, as in all things, I suppose.
