I hate supermarket shopping with DH in tow. It takes twice as long & costs twice as much! Luckily for me, since covid he's paranoid of catching something so even if we go together in the car, he sits in the car & waits for me!

Humdinger1 said:I hope this isn't a heartless suggestion @Sun_Addict but does Mr SA need to know that you're retiring? If you carried on more or less as usual the penny may not drop. You need to stay in good shape for everyone's sake...in awe of you, as ever. Love Humdinger xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Had to laugh at the 'Men Going Shopping' comments!🤣. Makes one feel glad one is single! I must say though most of the men I've known, and know, would rather poke their eyes out with a stick than go shopping with their other half or indeed go shopping generally! Maybe it's mainly the retired men that do it and haven't figured out what to do with themselves in retirement as yet.....Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I sometimes feel sorry for men who are being harried by their wives while out shopping, but the ones you describe are hilarious. If I'm bored I could go down to the Food Hall and play 'spot the tartan bag / shelf blocker'. Three points for the bag, 2 for the shelf blocker, one for 'Yes, dear'.
I'll second the idea of putting office clothes out the night before: it saves thinking in the morning (never my strong point) and might buy you a bit more freedom.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Glad you got out, were you in stealth mode?! I love BnM, but why oh why do I always spend way more than I think I'm going to and see things I never knew I wanted......one of life's mysteries!3

Happy New Year’s Eve 🥂 Where has this year gone!I’ve had a relapse with the lurgy and feel full of cold. My nose feels like it’s full of sneezes that won’t come out.I didn’t feel like going out but just come back from the park with the dog and it’s cleared my head a bit so I’m glad I made the effort.Mr M delivery arrived at 7am, I’ve cancelled Thursday’s as I don’t need anything else.Payday today 🥳 Have sent £100 to PBs. Will do the money shuffle properly tomorrow when I need to feed the regular savers.I started watching La Palma yesterday and saw the first episode in the afternoon. Mr SA said he wanted to watch it so we watched episode 2 last night. He did nothing but ask what time it was then started flicking through channels when an advert came on! I’ll be watching the rest of it on my iPad.Talking of Mr SA I think he was sleepwalking in the early hours as I woke up and saw him staring out of the bedroom window. He was leaning on his walker, staring out of the window then kept looking back at the bed. I asked him what he was doing but his reply didn’t make sense. It was giving me the creeps as it went on for ages. When he finally got back into bed he knocked everything off his bedside table including his water. It’s odd as DD said she’d seen him just standing in my office in the early hours a couple of weeks ago and she heard him in the shower at 2am!
We were originally planning to go out for lunch today but I don’t feel up to it and Mr SA isn’t bothered. We have plenty of food and drink at home and I probably shouldn’t be going to busy places spreading my cold either.
Tonight’s dinner is leftover vegetable bake from Sunday with veggie sausages. I put a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge for tonight but will definitely not still be awake to see 2025 in 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Hope you feel better soon. Last new year, we both had covid. Its horrible when you don't feel like doing anything or celebrating.
Does sound odd about Mr SA getting up in the night. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of it.
I have put Prosecco in the fridge for tonight as well, but we will have a glass early on and be in bed way before 12. I imagine the fireworks will wake us up though. They should be banned at new year.Making the debt go down and savings go up
