The driver's licence is a difficult one - people's sense of reality seems to get stuck with how they were for years, not how they are now (I know that's a result of how skills are stored in the brain, but it also makes things difficult for carers). You are probably wise to keep away. Stressing, though.
And its lovely here too, though showery. The warmth is actual, real, proper warmth!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

😳 to the wrong cream on his face…..good job it didn’t go into his eyes.
I don’t blame you keeping away whilst Mr SA is wanting to drive again.January spends - £587.583 -
He seems to be stuck in the days pre illness and goes from wanting to go back to work and driving again. I can understand it to some extent but he’s been told by professionals that he won’t be able to go back to work or drive. He’s very stubborn and won’t accept it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

It must be hard for him (and you) when he lives in the past and can’t grasp the reality of the here and now. It must scare your ds too with everything dil is going through atm.January spends - £587.583

Forgot to say there was a massive St Patrick’s Day celebration in our city centre. My next door neighbours are Southern Irish but no signs of celebrations there, probably too tired from having 3 kids under 10 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I did have to laught at the face cream incident 🤣🤣🤣
Must be hard living with someone who remembers how they were not how they are now. You really are a Saint.
Your well deserved holiday will be here before you know it.3 -
That sounds so hard. My grandad went through a stage of being sure he could stand on his own and being outraged that the carers were trying to help him up. The brain will insist something is possible with all evidence to the contrary 😢 Perhaps you could hide all his lypsils and set him off down a different track…something different to fixate on 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Sounds just like my dad, although he is 90 now, but he kept his car in the garage for over 3 years before finally selling it. He was convinced that he would be able to drive again because the physio had given him exercises for his legs after having 3 falls and massive swelling in his leg, which basically meant he can't even walk without a walker. He just wouldn't listen. Eventually though he realised the truth and got rid of the car and bought a mobility scooter last year, but has hardly used TBH, as all he can do is drive round the local roads in it and can't actually get out and walk anywhere.
Hopefully Mr SA will find something else to fixate on soon.Making the debt go down and savings go up

The thought of Mr SA driving sends shivers down my spine when he doesn’t seem to be able to manage a mobility scooter. Happy Saturday 🥂
DS and the GKs have been today and DS has put up the bedroom curtain pole properly. I bought some much sturdier brackets and he’s used no more nails to help strengthen them. He reminded Mr SA that the poles aren’t meant to withstand someone grabbing them to steady themselves 😐
Mr SA told DS he was going to get his drivers license back 😩 DS tried to make him see sense but not entirely sure this has worked.
Exercise has been a live ClubFit class this morning followed by a walk to the big Mr T. On 18,000 steps at the moment. Also day 17 of the plank challenge on 1 minute 45 seconds now 😬We got soaked in the showers this morning. It has been both raining and sunny at the same time. At least it’s quite warm.Tonight’s dinner is pizza, wedges and salad. Prosecco has been chilling in the fridge since this morning.Mr SA and the dog are exhausted from the visitors and in bed asleep so it’s lovely and quiet at the moment.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
